at your next an appt make sure they do all proper urine tests, bp etc to rule out gestational diabetes and pre eclampsia.

if you are worried at all just see your doctor.

i ballooned from just under 10st to 15st with ds1 in the hot summer of 2006, but i had severe pre eclampsia and an awful lot of it was water.

just see the doctor if you are at all worried.

alternatively it may be a growth spurt - I can't remember all the timings for everything!

I haven't got any scales and haven't weighed myself at all. I know I've put on loads of weight but I don't really care. I have to eat to stop feeling sick and it's my only pleasure in these last few weeks.

I honestly wouldn't worry unless you get any worrying symptoms.

I put on about 2.5 stone this time and only made it to 27 weeks. Baby only weighed 2lbs of that

Oh well. Have better things to worry about than how fat I am. It's the least of my problems now.

although i am of course not wanting to alarm anyone - I had severe pre eclampsia with ds1 - it was early onset from 9 weeks and i felt absolutely fine. one of the symptoms is sudden weight gain because you start really retaining water so OP if you are at all worried just go and see your doctor - BP and urine test will rule most things out.

IMO best to make sure rather than just assuming it's only normal pregnancy weight.

I put on about twenty kilos with my DS1. I was vast. They measured everything a couple of times to check. Everything was normal apart from a big head, and that was still on the scale, though probably not for someone my height. He was long, but still within "normal". I ate well and healthily but certainly not "for two".

It all came off within four months so it was a bit of a mystery. I didn't put on anything like as much with my DS2.

But had it happened again I would have still got it checked.

I put on about 75 tonnes. I was absolutely enormous. And dd was an average size. I cycled, ate healthily, swam and generally looked after myself. My Mum was the same with me.

I found it really, really hard to lose it afterwards as well.

7kg is not much at all, i think.. I was 74kg before pregnancy, now 8 months and 88kg. Still size 14, so (nearly) all of it must be the bump.. But obviously if you're worried have it checked out.

I have put on just under 3 stone But I am 38 weeks and I don't look pg from behind so I don't think I have gained much body weight. Try not to worry.
