Concieved using chlomid and metaphormin so had early scan at 6 weeks (last period 7 may) couldn't find anything in my uterus which has a thickened lining. Blood tests came back normal to high and waiting for another tomarrow. Has anyone else experienced anything like this - i have had no pain or significant bleeding.

what does the thickened lining mean? when you say your blood was normal to high are you tlking about the hormone content?
i am sorry to hear this but it is possible that the embryo was reabsorbed into t he body.

Uterus has thickened as normal and hormone levels are normal to high for 6 weeks pregnant - what do you mean reabsorbed? - etopic has been mentioned but have no pain or blood and still showing pregnany signs sore breasts etc...

hi kate... my lmp was 2 may and i have had an early scan... they calculated me at 6 weeks but when i had the scan they only saw a sac!! they took my blood and with the result of scan and bloods they said i must have ovulated late and only be 3 - 4 weeks pg!! Dont worry too much as i was told a thickened lining was a good sign. you may be earlier than what you think therefore it being too early to see anything on scan. plus you have no pain or bleeding!! keep positive

Hi kate I had this on ds1 they were set to terminate for ectopic as I also had fluid in my tube and low blood results and abdominal pain.

However hey didn't see a sac till I was nearly 8 weeks so everything could turn out fine.

The fluid and pain in my case were due to an injury I had sustained. So it looked like there was no hope for me but there he is my healthy 3 year old boy.

Try to stay positive and I hope everything works out well. The high blood results is a good sign.

s1003 I would start a separate thread. I was diagnosed with this at 20 weeks. I had iv antibiotics during labour to ensure that baby was okay.

Have a look at here which will tell you all you need to know.

It is good that you have been diagnosed so the obsterician can monitor you during labour.

I hope you are just not as far along with your pregnancy as you think you are and beanie will make an appearance very soon but if ectopic is being considered then you can find a wealth of information on this site they also have a message board and helpline you can phone.
Good luck

Hi Kate 123, sorry to hear your news and hope you are learning to get used to it...

I had an 8 week scan last week (natural conception though, so it might be different) and in my paperwork it says 'embrio absent, yolk sac absent, gestational sac present, amniotic sac present' - and the doctor sonographer (at fetal health clinic at harley street) was very confident that i had a missed miscarriage. they did not do blood. I had not pain, no bleeding, sore boobs and quite healthy appetite, healthier than usual.

What they said is that they make a follow up scan in 10 days to confirm, but the lady also made it very clear that it's just a formality....

How did your test go? How are you, most importantly?

My last LMP was also the 7th May, I went for an early scan to check dates on friday last week, I thought I would be just 6 weeks pregnant and probably see a fetus but all they saw was the sac and the yolk sac.

They said that all looks perfect for someone that is just under 5 weeks pregnant and that I perhaps ovulated later than I expected.

I have booked another one in for next Friday so will find out then if the little ban shows its face.

So dont worry it could be the same as me.

Hi SuziBhoy and Kate 123,
My last LMP was the 12 May. Had what initally thought was 6 week scan Weds and all they could see was a blob in what my husband thought was a sac. Lining thickened to 15mm which I was told was a sign but didnt mean healthy. Doc did bloods that came back my pregnancy hormone high for what didnt match the scan picture. He thinks ill misscarry. Go back tomorrow for bloods again. Had bad period pains but no blood loss? any ideas?

Censu,

I would wait longer just to make sure....it could be a perfectly healthy baby in there just taking its time.

if no bleeding or anything dont do anything rash.

Hey bettyjack,

Thanks for that, i went back for final bloods this morning to see if my hormones are still rising. Did pop into the Obstetrics & gyane unit but no doc there to see me. I started to get pain in my groin last night that sent pain every so often down the front of my thigh. Not sure what this means either but uncomfy so want to get in to see my doctor today (fri) but hospital have said to wait until they have phoned me with results. Still no blood loss and still feeling nautious. Its a waiting game

Got phone call from hospital with blood results, shows they are increasing at the moment with that of a pregancy thats progressing in the uterus but there is always a but from doctors. They are concerned as the scan taken the 1st time of bloods doesnt show enough to match the level of hormone in the bloods taken. So back in Monday for another scan to hopefully find the baby. If they cant then I get referred to see what they do next. I think I know what that means! I will insist on a different machine and scanographer this time though, last lady didnt look about for very long and wasnt very gentle (had to have the trans Vaginal one)ill say no more.

Been for a final scan and they found the baby's heartbeat. What a relief. I know im still in the danger zone but so far so good, the power of prayer is an amazing thing. Just goes to show that doctors dont know everything and they are still very capable of getting it wrong. Ive changed hospital's now. Mainly because were moving area but I didnt want to be around negative doctors anymore at that hospital. They were dooming my baby, well just proves GOD is more powerful than any man.

Great news censu. Early scans are a bloody nightmare and often do more harm than good. I would never get a scan again before well after 7 weeks for precisely the reason that there is often not much to be seen.

I had exactly that happen with my DS1 - after an 6 wk early scan (done because of a previous ectopic) they told me to go home and wait to miscarry .. came back the next week and there was the heartbeat. What a relief! My DS1 is now 2 - good luck with the rest of your pg x

Thanks ladies, cant believe im coming into week 9 of pregnancy and the morning sickness seems like all day sickness, sometimes I dont get any relief until about 8pm at night.
Any ideas? I have tried the peppermint thing, ginger biscuits and lemon drops. Even the Seaband wrist bands but they dont work 100%.
I totally agree, I will not go for an early scan ever again and I know the new hospital im under dont want me back for another scan until im 20wks!! bit nervous about it being that long inbetween but ill cope.
