Is it safe to.. you know... 'fool around' at 4 weeks?

I did, and now I'm panicking because my womb feels all tight and I've had some cramping and some shooting pains.

Am I panicking over nothing?

Apparently the uterus practices contracing very early on and orgasm causes the uterus to contract too - so perhaps that's what you are feeling? I don't think it's a problem unless you are bleeding or the cramps don't go away. Then you should get checked out.

Hope that's all it is! Thanks

Hello again, hope you are ok. Here is a link to an NHS web page which might answer some of your questions link

MrsBadger Sun 21-Jun-09 15:32:08

yes

and also to say 'shag' or 'have sex' if you so desire wink

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Sun 21-Jun-09 19:33:07

grin well it wasn't sex and I didn't want to go into detail

TAUP - well done. I couldn't bear my dh to go near me for weeks and weeks ! I take it you are a fan of Michael McIntyre?? I love him grin!!!

mears Sun 21-Jun-09 22:12:55

No it isn't safe at 4 weeks. I have seen women pregnant at their 6 week check. Be careful.....

Deemented Mon 22-Jun-09 07:46:28

Mears - i think the OP is 4 weeks pregnant, not 4 weeks past birth....

chaya5738 Mon 22-Jun-09 08:30:17

Of course it is safe when you are 4 weeks pregnant. Cramps are normal in the early stages.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Mon 22-Jun-09 08:54:47

I'm going to take cramps as a good sign because I didn't have any with MC, but I did have them with DS. Got them bad this time.

I am 4 weeks preg, but I was back on the horse 3 weeks after having DS last year grin wanted to check everything still worked.

Cruisemum- Yeah, a little bit obsessed with McIntyre grin

chaya5738 Mon 22-Jun-09 09:31:44

I think cramps mean the fertilized egg is embedding in your uterus - so yes, a good sign!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

cruisemum1 Mon 22-Jun-09 12:12:37

the cramps could also be the ligaments stretching. I thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy with ds2.blush I was so concerned I went to the docs. It really was painful though. I am sure you will be fine smile. Have you seen Michael Mcintyre's Man Drawer routine?! grin

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Mon 22-Jun-09 12:19:09

Ha yes, in our house it's called the 'necessity drawer' so we were falling about laughing. Any man without a man drawer is not normal grin

My fave bit is when he does that 'hold on while I punch this burning man in the face' scottish guy thing. So funny!

I've got a 6-7 weeks scan on 9th July so hopefully will put my mind at rest.

cruisemum1 Mon 22-Jun-09 13:37:58

TAUP - that is an early scan?! Best of luck - I am sure all will be as it should be. Love hte refs to MM grin. I also love the November sketch..... "look how dark it is" He should be available on prescription! It would put the prozac manufacturers out of business smile

mears Mon 22-Jun-09 22:36:43

Oops - got wrong end of stick. Common to have cramping at times period would be due ie 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks. All should be well.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied Wed 24-Jun-09 15:46:25

Thanks lovely ladies, my conception indicator has jumped from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks so all is looking good at the moment.

Cruise- he should definately come on prescription! There's a way to spend maternity leave when it eventually comes round me thinks...
