Is it normal for second pregnancies to be more achey than first?

I've had really strong dull aches throughout this pregnancy (I'm 12+5). I've assumed they're stretching pains as I've had three scans and all is well with baby, but I don't remember them being so strong or consistent last time (just over two years ago). Was I just ridiculously excited and therefore not noticing it, or does my uterus have to stretch so much more this time? I would have thought it stretched enough last time.

Ooooh good question! I am 8 weeks pg with dc2 and have been loads of odd pains/stretching feelings. I remember this with dd but also thought I would have stretched enough already! I guess its normal.

This is my second pregnancies and asked my mw the same thing. She rather politely told me that as things are looser down there, and my muscles aint what they were first time round there was less support therefore would feel more aches and pains. I ache every day which I was not aware of in first pregnancy, but have got the whole hurry up with the whole 9 months thing this time round. I am 26 weeks, I find swimming helps. Good luck

thanks for that giggly... makes sense I guess. I do find stretching helps. It's particularly bad after a day sitting down at work.

Hello!

I don't remember having any pains at all first time round, but really have to be careful making any sudden movement this time round (including such strenuous activities as getting up from the sofa....) as I get a really sharp, stich like pain. Spoke to MW last time I saw her, she said quite normal. Quite tedious though!

Hiya

My 2nd PG was way different to the first and I had aches and period pains from the start. Try not to worry.
