hi all
have scan today to check viability of baby and im petrified .
Have had 3mcs in past including a missed mc in dec so mw has got me a scan for today. I should be 8+5 today and we are checking to see if baby has a heartbeat. I dont have the same doom n gloom feeling i had last time but obviously could go either way. Just wish it was easy for me to keep a baby as i dont know if i can cope with having another angel

X post.

There'll be a crowd around this afternoon to either drink champagne or discuss advice for what next etc.

I presume that because of your angels you've seen all sorts of consultants etc.. ?

hub2dee..u would think wouldnt u..lol But because i had 2mcs before ds then one after they said i could obviously carry to term so would consider tests if it happens again. I asked gp for referal for scan and she ignored me so it was only seeing mw yesterday that managed to sort out this scan otherwise i would have been getting left...

You'll know either way very soon. If it's tolerably sunny where you are get out this AM for a walk maybe so you're not stewing and getting nervous. Any parks within striking distance ? (If there's a pet shop enroute, buys ome wild brid seed and then make a thousand new friends, LOL !).

If this goes well, celebrate, and if it doesn't you'll be in a very strong position to insist on the appropriate investigations I'd imagine. It's harsh, isn't it.

Nemo,

I knew this would be you - you started you mn addiction extra early this morning I see

You know today is gonna be hard - nothing I can say will change that. I totally sympathise with your feelings of anxiety and fear.

I'm positive that things will go well for you today. Then you can come back and celebrate - and also feel unbelievable relief!!!!!

Try and keep busy today - keep your mind off it
Love ya!!!!

You're never alone with Mumsnet...thinking of you Nemo, and really hoping all is well for you this time. I know how scary these "helpful" extra early scans can be. Keep us posted XXX

nemo hope it goes well, will be thinking of you.
On the mc front, my sister had three with a term baby in between but they were still about to look into what was causing it even tho, like you, she could carry to term.
Anyway it ended well because she got pg with ds (baby no 2) before the investigation could begin!
I'm sure that will happen for you too.

Thinking of you and sending lots of positive vibes. Having been in the same position I know how horrible the worry is. Good luck!

Nemo, I second hub2dee's very sensible advice - go and do something this morning, even if you only take a walk down the road and back - it will help to pass the time and help you to calm down, rather than staying in and watching the clock until your appointment

Anyway, best of luck, I will be thinking about you when it is your appointment time.

PS I love your name - I am designing a cross-stitch kit this morning with a tropical fish on and thought of you, even before I saw this thread!!!

ggod luck nemo
i was there yesterday but epus are lovely unthreatening places
hope all is well
i hope to join dec thread soon but cant bear the ordeal of 'falling off' another thread so am waiting in case it all goes belly up again
I approached my scan yesterday with the attitude that if it was bad news I would stay there and insist on the investigations after 3 mcs i knew i should get . at least then I would come away from the scan feeling Id achieved something
