my 29yr old sister having one mon morning, we want to see who's had one and how bad/ok/nightmarish it was!

I've had one.

It was fine on all counts.

Try not to worry ... actually giving birth is much worse grin

thats good!
its her second baby and Ive had two so we know about the birthing!!

did it not hurt? how did they anaesthatise? nothing?

You knbow, I cant remember if they put any anaesthetic on, I dont think they do.

It honestly didnt hurt me. All i felt was a slight prick, then a popping sensation. It really wasnt uncomfortable or anything. Just a bit wierd.

Good luck for next week. I'm sure it will be fine.

I've had one and it wasn't too bad. I was able to watch my baby on the screen throughout which I found very reassuring. I would suggest wearing loose trousers - the lady who went in before me had quite tight jeans on and I remember thinking that I was glad I was wearing loose, comfy trousers. I also felt a little sensitive afterwards (both emotionally and physically) and was glad that I'd taken the rest of the day off work. Not everyone may feel like that though. I imagine that some people may find that working takes their mind off the test results.
