Can any one offer any advice please? I did a HPT this afternoon (Clear Blue x/-)I have a line to confirm the text has worked and in the result window I have a horizontal line - which means negative I know...the thing that is strange is that above that line there are a number of dots not necessarily in a line but over to one side and in two collections...what could this be? they came up straight away has anyone ever experienced this and still been pregnant? my period is due today so I am not even late really yet...thanks for taking the time to read this and reply D xx

That's not what a positive should look like and I suspect that CB would say that the test is faulty. It sounds like either the HCG detecting dye has not been applied properly or as though the dye used for the horizontal line has spread.
The only thing to do is another test, I'm afraid, but do call CB because if I'm right and they consider the test faulty they should send you a replacement.

Hope you get the result you want.

I've done a search on google seeking advice and I've come across people saying that the dots could represent a very low level of HCG?? one lady tested at 5,13am in the morning and had a dot or two and then again at 5.15pm an had a definate line!?! I think I may just be clutching at straws...no doubt my period will be here tomorrow oh joy!

If the test is faulty (which does sound possible) that doesn't mean that you are not pregnant. Nip out to the chemist and get a First Response. They are pretty sensitive and without the problems of the blue +/- tests. That way you'll know for sure.
