Hi
I am 16 weeks pregnant (already have a beautiful baby boy) and I am really worried this pregnancy. Don't know why. Anyway, I am off on holiday on Sunday for three weeks and well I just want to set my mind at rest. I have had 2 scans already (it just happened) and baby has been summersalting and stuff, fantastic. Last scan was 4 weeks ago I am just concerned that I am 16 week and I have not felt the baby move. Is this normal? When should I get concerned? I thought you were supposed to feel the baby sooner second time round. Not seeing the midwife until the end of June. Grateful for your thoughts. xxx

Some people feel baby move quicker second time. However that is due to slackned tummy muscle so you must have lovely tight toned one. I wasn't sure I could feel kicks till 18 weeks although I thought I could maybe feel them before that.

16 weeks is still early even for no 2.

I expected to feel movement earlier with dd2 but it was the same as dd1 - around 20 weeks IIRC

I was about 22 weeks with both before I felt anything, and even after that it was fairly subdued.

you have near brought tease of joy. Thanks. I feel releaved. I have been worrying for a week now as magazines I have read say I should start feeling him or her. Thank you. I just wish I could feel him or her so I know they are ok. Silly really.

Ah, your baby hasn't read those magazines remember.

Have a fabulous holiday. Once you've got past 12 weeks and you've seen a healthy baby, the chances of anything going wrong are minuscule.

I know it's hard to relax but honestly, your baby is a little personality already. He/she will give you a good kick when the mood takes.
