Best pram/buggy stores near or in London??

I'd like to know which stores are best in or around London for trying out lots of different brands of prams and buggies? I'm willing to travel a bit... Let me know!
PS Is the Oxford pram store any good?

You can't beat John Lewis on Oxford Street.

It's outside London but Two Left Feet (in Bedford I think) are fab. Discovered them too late for my own pram purchasing but my friend had a great time trying out lots of different brands.

Kiddicare is also outside of London (Peterborough to be precise), its a verygood warehouse with loads of buggies on display, and they have had fantastic feedback...plus they tend to be the cheapest around.

Re 2 left feet - might be good for trying out but don't buy from there! They were on watchdog this evening; have very bad rep. C.

Do NOT buy from 2leftfeet without running a search for threads on Mumsnet first. In fact there's one right now on "Am I Being Unreasonable" and usually one on Products, too. They have an unspeakably bad reputation - also Bambino Direct. They are cheap for a (bad) reason.

Oxford Pram Centre are apparently good, and lullabys.co.uk are fantastic. John Lewis you also can't go wrong with, though they don't stock Xplorys or Mountain Buggies afaik.

It's always a good idea to google any company and "customer service" before splashing out online, IMO.

We found Harrods a good place for looking. Went in just after lunch on a Saturday - it was faily quiet, and the sales girl was fabulous. She spent around 30 minutes showing us the two prams we were interested in, pulling them apart etc and telling us the pros and cons.

agree with john lewis in oxford street (way ahead of kingston one)...go when its not busy -I went early evening on a tuesday -they were lovely.

you could always try local mothercare, babys r us even though I found them overpriced it's good to try them out.

Near Kingston, A3 baby barn are very good for customer service etc. You can park outside and try stuff in the car to see if it fits e.g. car seats etc.

Baby Nest in Croydon has an excellent range of buggies etc to look at - possibly better than the A3 BabyBarn. They had by far the widest choice of makes and models than anywhere else I looked and also will help you check things fit in boot etc. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. And it's just down the road so you can contrast with the total lack of service in Mothercare World in the same trip for fun!

I too would have recommended the A3 Baby Barn, that is until we had a problem with the Nipper 360 double that we bought from there.
Their after service was a joke! They never returned calls, gave different information each time we phoned and blamed their staff for 'a lack of spoken english' when we were offered an exchange that was then retracted.Thats without the manager who loves to just talk over you! We are still fighting them now. So as far as i'm concerned they are great when they want you to buy something but not so good if you have a problem.

A3 Baby Barn is great. Very helpful to pick a buggy suitable for my tall husband. Easy car parking. Ask for Amanda!
