Want some cute unsentimental words for birth announcement

Last time I wrote "with ten little fingers and ten little toes!" at the bottom of the birth announcement. That's as slushy as I go.

So far all I can think of is ...

... thank f* that's all over

... starting bidding at £10

Maybe I'm just not in the right mood right now. Any ideas?

The Bump Has Landed.

The Sprog Has Dropped.

Ouch, that hurt like f*ck.

nailpolish Wed 13-Apr-05 20:38:54

neither did i beety

put it in the paper but only cos my dad works there and we got it for free

fisil Wed 13-Apr-05 20:40:15

marthamoo - I like your last one, but Granny might be offended. The first one might do, though!

I've got all that already Beety, just seems oddly insufficient - like you should sign off.

maisystar Wed 13-Apr-05 20:41:48

i put 'the bump has landed' too

Thomcat Wed 13-Apr-05 20:42:15

No, nothing there that isn't slush, apart from a few 'hope you don't turn into as big a lush as your mummy'!
How about, 'Looking forward to seeing you grow up'?

Thomcat Wed 13-Apr-05 20:43:17

Oh I seee, you are sending out annoucement cards! Oh sorry, got that all wrong.

marthamoo Wed 13-Apr-05 20:44:30

The worst one I had, from a woman at dh's work who has 3 dd's, was "A boy..better luck next time!" Couldn't believe it, silly cow (I know she thought she was being funny but really [huffy emoticon])

marthamoo Wed 13-Apr-05 20:45:12

Sorry, I had gone off at a tangent with TC there and moved on to congratulations cards!

Thomcat Wed 13-Apr-05 20:45:17

Oh, how odd Marthamoo!

darlingbud Wed 13-Apr-05 20:45:38

Wow that hurt
Don't do it
Pushing here
And I thought it was just indigestion

JanH Wed 13-Apr-05 20:45:53

fisil, have you seen that ebay site that sells bodysuits embroidered with all babe's vital stats? Then you take pic of babe with mum and dad (and big bro probably in your case) and that's your announcement.

Very very cute and no words needed. Want me to look?

nailpolish Wed 13-Apr-05 20:46:04

how about something like

the ...... family are now 3/4 (whatever!) thanks to the arrival of baby ....... on ...... at ......... weighing in at .............

all donations of alcohol and pro plus will be gratefully received

Thomcat Wed 13-Apr-05 20:46:18

How about "The Stork has been'
I don't think i'm very good at this.

'It's a bbay'!

Errr, shall I just get my coat?!

Gem13 Wed 13-Apr-05 20:47:30

I tried to describe them. Physically - long fingers, big feet, curly hair and generally - dainty, sleepy, smiley, loud (!), etc. Apart from hair colour all of the other characteristics were spot on!

fisil Wed 13-Apr-05 20:52:12

JanH, oh queen of internet searches, I have already made the cards (plain white with a 3D felt nappy on the front - very cute - shall I send you one?). I like the idea, though, but not enough to have another baby just for the sake of it!

nailpolish, love the proplus/alcohol idea. Do you think Granny will?

JanH Wed 13-Apr-05 20:52:48

Here - it's American but she does it the same day apparently so should get to you pretty fast.

They call a bodysuit an onsie apprently (onesie, maybe???)

nailpolish Wed 13-Apr-05 20:54:13

och dont worry about her! shes so far up on cloud 9 shell never notice

just dont send her one, or send her a slushy one and maybe shell think you sent a slushy one to everyone, so you just have to cross fingers she doesnt see the real one!

shortcake Wed 13-Apr-05 20:54:49

What about
"It started with a kiss..."
