I will be nearing my due date that week. Went for an induction appointment two weeks ago and they said no and to come back on the 29th. Would they allow it now??

Do you have medical reasons for wanting an induction? Normally they will only induce after 40+10.

Is there a medical reason for induction?

no. I had the flu really bad with asthma n it came back with chesty cough but thats all. my ankles are like balloons but with my first child i was overdue by 11 days and had a 36 hour labor after waters broke could that be a good enough excuse cause nothing can be worse than that.

Unlikely, I am afraid. I was induced both times - 1st at 39+6 because small for dates. 2nd at 35+4 because baby stopped growing.

They really don't like to induce unless medically necessary. And past history doesn't necessarily mean a lot. My SIL had a 40hr natural labour with her first, ending with ventouse. Her second was an induction at 40+10, and ended in a 3 hr labour.

I would be very surprised if they agree, but I suppose it depends how persuasive you are and whether they can be bothered to argue harder than you.

tbh, i dont think i would want an induction before my due date (unless there were medical reasons).

Second labours are rarely anything like first labours, and you are far less likley to end up with a long drawn out labour if it starts naturally.
