Can you feel when babies head is engaged?

Am 35 weeks and for the last day or so have had this sort of achey pressure type feeling in the um, pubic region - wondering if this might mean head is engaged (or moving downwards) - does this sound right or is it just some new symptom for me to enjoy?

If you feel that you have a cannonball between your legs grin, yes it is engaged. It is quite a heavy kind of feeling. I was worried DS would just slide out if I am not careful enough. (I know, typical hopeful first-timer smile.)
