Pregnancy

Strong BHs, suddenly loads of colostum appearing, backache and I've booked my shopping to be delivered on Thursday, my due date. Do you think I've tempted fate enough?

Go, Mama!

Nothing here.

I've pretty much resigned myself to mid-November baby here.

Got a trip across the water planned on Wednesday, however, for a final stock up on ready meals.

Yes we moved this year and ended up being 45 mins away - big mistake. Used to be 5 mins away. Ours wasn't the cleanest either - especially not afterwards - lovely job for dh.

Ah expat I reckon I'm kidding myself. I'll be mid-November with you!

100x, you might as well click that kettle off

i've been having random contractions for a week.

it's come to nowt.

midwife was like, 'oh, are they powerful BHs?'

i said, 'nope. i learned the hard way DD2, they're contractions.'

but this kid is still way up there and going nowhere.

i've already re-adjusted my bags for having to go across the water to the big hospital for induction and will epidural from the get go.

i don't give a toss if it slows things down - not going to care by that point.

at least, my parents will be here 4 days after he's born if we go down the induction route and then i can literally sit on the couch or lie in bed BF and do utter FA.

Shall I fish the DIY sweep instructions out? Am sure I have them somewhere...

I was reading about something on here the other day, can't remember what it was called, but some homeopathic doingsmebob that seems to get people going within 24 hours?

I am going to stock up in a few weeks!

Report
expatinscotland · 27/10/2008 16:55

i've tried curry, wine, sex, walking about.

Report
MamaG · 27/10/2008 17:01

I was going to try it without epidural but then thought why the fuck would I do that? Will I get a medal? No!

I had epidural with DD, first, after v long labour and didn't have time with DS - why the hell would I want to put myself through that again?!

No, I'll have as many drugs as they'll let me I think.

I read that thread about that homeopathic thingy but don't think I'll try it

How about cleaning windows? Digging the garden (good luck in this weather!!) if nothing else at least it gets a shitty job out of the way.

Report
expatinscotland · 27/10/2008 17:02

if i have to be induced there is no way on this Earth i'm going epidural-free.

in fact, i'm also going to go all American on them and get them to scan me for how big he is and how big his head is.

Nipple stimulation..

get going.. my neighbour did it for a couple of hours and it got her contractions started.

laboury birthy starter stuff

Expat, I have been induced twice and honestly, it really doesn't have to be as bad as everyone makes out.

Having said that, I fancy a break this time, if they are going to do me again I might have the epidural as well.
