Does anyone know the legalities of this? I know it can get quite difficult and uncomfortable on the practical side of things, but I'm more concerned with things like whether it would affect the insurance e.g. after 37 wks?

Ask your insurance company.

i drove up until i was 40 weeks as i was working until 39.5 wks.
Think it depends on insurance company

never heard of problems with insurance - I never thought to check though. I had problems fitting behind the stearing wheel

I did hear a tale about a woman who had todrive herself to hospital when she was in labour as they'd been to a party and her DH had had too much to drink.....
But...I've never heard of anyone being told they couldn't drive in later pregnancy - surely that would be common knowledge if it were so?

Hi

i work in insurance and as long as you feel okay and the Dr hasn't told you to stop driving it's fine.

Also if you have a c-section you can drive when okayed by the DR/MW

I drove right up to the last day with all 4 pgs. I'm afraid it never crossed my mind that there might be insurance implications. TBH. I think I drove more carefully when I was pg as I was conscious of my responsibility for the baby.

Thanks for the replies ladies, much appreciated! I think I'll just try to drive as little as possible and be extra cautious (as per usual when pg with other 2 kids in back!).

Thanks again
