Achey feelings

I am sure I am being paranoid here but I am going to post anyway.
DD has had an awful cold and temperature for the last two days. She has been very clingy and wanted to be carried everywhere. She is two next month and although not huge is quite a weight. I am 25 weeks pregnant. Today I ache all over. I am fairly sure that it is all muscular but I am struggling to walk upright and it hurts when I take a deep breath. The oddest symptom is that when I have a wee my tummy aches, almost like where the muscles are moving back as my bladder empties. Do you think this is purely muscle strain or should I see a doc tomorrow? Baby has been moving all day so I am not too concerned but sometimes think I am a little too blase so would appreciate your opinions. Are you not supposed to carry heavy weights in preg cos of back/muscular damage or could I have done something to the baby? TIA

Sounds like a urinary tract infection to me, don't worry about having done something to the baby, your body will absorb the stress before it allows the baby to be harmed I think

How's your wee? Frequent?

agree with suzy - you wont have harmed your baby, almost sure

i had a toddler too when i was pg with no. 2 and worried about lifting, but its almost impossible at times.

when is your next mw appt? maybe give her a call

Definitely a UTI. I had 6 during my last pregnancy!! I kept being told to drink more fluids, but if I had I'd never have been away from the toilet!!!

At 24 wks the pain of an infection was so bad I ended up in hospital overnight coz I thought it was labour pains! Best to get it checked whilst is just mild, it's very easy to treat.

yes it's really easy to treat, make a gp appointment asap and in the meantime get the cranberry juice down you girl

I had about four in the third trimester of each pg, most inconvenient

Oooh I am interested by your replies. I used to get cystitis alot but it is not a burning pain when I pee like I used to get with UTI's before. It is more of an ache. I have now got a temperature (only 38 degrees) too so I am going to bed and I will make a docs appt for tomorrow. I am not due to see the m/w for another four weeks. Thank you for your help. I will take a pint of water to bed with me. On the bright side dd seems much better already, not right but def better.

Hi there,
Thanks for your help yesterday. DD was ill again last night poor thing but if def better today. Doc said I don't have a UTI thankfully and that I have just been over doing things and have muscle strain. Guess I was right when I called myself paranoid.
Thanks again.

glad you got that sorted out

I know how hard it is with a toddler when you're pg but do take it easy

Thanks Suzy. Have done nothing but a bit of ironing and cooking today. DD is thankfully much better and so doesn't want carrying anymore.
