I am around 9 weeks pregnant, and have my sisters hen do tonight, how can I get out of drinking without making it to obvious I am pregnant, sister will guess if i say i'm not drinking, she did the first time round! Don't want to have to tell anyone yet, as I want all the attention to be on her, for hen night and wedding in 3 weeks.

Tell them you're on antibiotics for something, and have to avoid drinking.

Congratulations btw

LOL. If you say you are antibiotics everybody will know!
Is it a meal, a pub, a club?
I suggest you order a drink with alcohol and make sure everybody knows you have done so - then just nurse it. If you are in a bar, take it with you when you go to the loo or something and leave it somewhere! If it's a meal, have a glass of wine but make sure you get a glass of water too then just leave the wine. If everybody else is drinking rapidly they won't notice.

Congratulations! On antibiotics is a good excuse. Or have soft drinks that look like they could have alcohol in them...like lemonade or coke could have vodka or bacardi in it for all they know. Once they've had a few drinks people wont notice what you're drinking anyway.

How about just saying you are really hungover?

I managed two weeks off alcohol (amazing for me) last year as I WAS on antibs. I had a low-grade urine infection with no symptoms and was on 2 weeks and was told no alcohol. Nobody thought it dd.

If I say I'm on antibs, Mum and sister will defo guess! Might go with ordering drink and water, and nursing all night. It's in a Jazz club, for "dinner dancing and lots of drinking" (this was on invites) her friends know me so well the'll expect me to be plastered Really don't want to steal sisters thunder, just hope bridesmaid dress still fits in 3 weeks!

I have just come back from a hen wkd but i told my sister and best friend so they helped me out by shouting across table- Vodka and coke again? When really i was just on coke! I had to swap to water thou as it was bloating me and a girl then asked if i was pregnant! :-( It was abit obvoius as i normally always drink blue wkd!!!!!!
Also got away with shots-when no one was looking i poured mine into sisters and on the count looked like i downed it!!!! Hope you work something out.

I agree get one glass and nurse it, pretend to sip from it, preferable soemthing like vodka and orange so that you can then get just OJ... After a couple of drinks no one notices.. I even managed to fool my DH at a party like this once! (hadn't plucked up the courage to tell him I was pg!) Perhaps even be in charge of the kitty so you are in charge of getting the rounds in!

Yes, agree with cece - put yourself in charge of kitty and getting in the drinks.

I would buy a tiny bottle of vodka empty it and fill it with water, tell them all you have 'brought your own to save ££' and tip a bit of the water in a fresh orange juice under the table!

I used to do this as a teenager when everyone wanted me to drink but I didn't want to! They never knew, lol.

Tonic water is a great cheat, I think. And definitely offer to be in charge of the kitty and getting drinks in.

No one noticed that I nursed the same glass of wine all night! They were all too pissed. I was the only one who didn't have a hangover in the morning either Sister still suffering today!

Well done, it's easy isn't it once they all get pissed?! No one notices at all. Bet you felt smug when they were all nursing a hangover.

I did the nursing one glass and not drinking it thing all over xmas and no-one guessed. No one bats an eyelid if you just accept an alcoholic drink and don't drink it, it's odering a soft drink that gets everyone going.
