prob a silly question but i have to ask..

Am 30+2 and this is my 2nd pg. Baby v low and always has been. I asked my MW quite a while ago saying he felt too low and she said because its my 2nd pg pelvic floor muscle is weak and its ok...

anyway i feel him so low it makes me feel sick. Im talking so low i can feel him like what feels like touching me 'down there'.

Last few days when hes moving around ive felt a kinda 'pop' abit like when your waters go and i think oh no whats that and go to the loo but theres nothing there.

I havent had a prob with my pelvic floor and do my excercises and havent had any wee accidents or anything but i just wondered is it possible for the baby to pop your waters? Sorry if that sounds ridiculous but i want to know as worried! I have asked numerous people with more than 1 child and they say they have never felt a baby move as low as where i describe.

Have no experience in this but think I would go ask my doctor about it, and insist on a thourough examination to make sure that nothing is wrong.

do you do pelvic floor excercises? that can really help.. you can ask for a referral to someone if your pelvic floor is really struggling... to help you with excercises etc

if the baby popped your waters, which would be pretty much i,possible, you would have been leaking fluid, even if it did not gush, you would have been leaking

the baby is held in two tough membranes, and would need very sharp long nails to pop both layers!

when you say you can feel it ' down there' do you mean you feel like your baby's head is right on your pelvic floor and you are sitting on his head?

you could have a little rummage yourself, with clean hands, to reassure yourself the baby is not about to fall out.

if you are really concerned, then do press for more help from your MW

yes, very religous about pelvic floor excercises like i said, i personally think my pelvic floor is in quite good shape!

what i mean is that it feels like someone is poking me around internally...

im 39+4 and was only telling dh the other day of this wierd popping sensation.it only happens when i go for a wee though but it actually feels like a real pop although nothing comes out??? been told maybe is very low down now so was thinking could his head perhaps be lower than my bladder?

I felt like this with dd2 down to weak muscles but on the plus side she came bang on due date and delivered fast i was only 8cm dilated and i was trying to hold her in!

I had it with dd2, it felt like fingers or toes inside my vagina although I knew it wasn't it was vv uncomfy. Again on the plus side v fast labour!

so is the consensus that it is physically impossible for baby to break waters or is there anyone out there who knows/thinks differently?

in my non medical opinion, it is an impossibility . would be interested to know if i am wrong.

I had DC1 11 days ago. He was 2 weeks early and after 7 hours of labour a scan showed that he was an undiagnosed footling breech. My waters went before I had any contractions. MW mentioned that he could have kicked the waters hard enough to break them, thus effectively inducing himself.

i thought the OP meant that the baby had torn through the waters with his hands, as she had said she felt like he was touching her..interesting,bikerunski, and congratuations on the birth of your little one

i havent HAD my waters go, just wanted to know if it was possible because it feels to me like it is possible!

i know you said yo udo your excercises, but have you had anyone check with you that you are doing them right? also, there may be more things and help you can get from a physio that will help you feel better for the next few weeks of the pregnancy.

if you have had multiple scans and the amount of fluid was not commented on, i would hope that it is within normal levels.

well, that is interesting. i guess i am wrong. it has been known i presumed it was hormonal, pressure of baby weight and waters and then contractions. so there you go !!

Oh yes, I felt my waters go!!!!!!!!!! Would have been very hard for anyone in a 100m radius to stay dry. It was like someone had stuch a house down my neck and turned the tap on full whack!
