This morning i was in the kitchen and my eye sight got covered my lots of little sort of star type things. I felt fine, wasnt hungry or anything. Is this something to do with blood pressure or just ignore it?

Were they like silver floating things?

If so, you need to be checked by a midwife.

It sounds like blood pressure to me . I would speak to the midwife and see what she says .

How you feeling now ?

how pregnant are you?

ARe you shortsighted? You should get seen at the optician asap - tell them that you're pg.

I had an eyetest when pg with ds2 because I kept seeing things, thinking there was a fly in the room, for example, when there wasn't. It turned out that I had a couple of 'floaters', just bits of tissue inside the eyeball, quite harmless, which my brain would eventually tune out and I wouldn't be able to see them any more. But the optician warned me that, with my shortsightedness, if I felt that I was suddlenly seeing flashes of light, or of darkness, that I must get seen asap as it can be a symptom of damage to the retina. Macular or retinal detachment, I think she called it. It can be caused or made worse by high blood pressure, which is of course one of the risks of pregnancy, and being very shortsighted puts you at a higher risk.

Visual disturbances can be a sign of pre-eclampsia and for that reason you must speak to your MW or doctor straight away. Your symtoms could migraine related or otherwise harmless but pre-eclampsia can progress very quickly and be very serious so get it checked NOW.

I had low BP early on in this pg, saw 'stars', but also felt dizzy/woozy. Could also be a migraine aura, but agree best to get checked out.

WHen pregnant it is normal to get the signs of a migraine but no pain - I had it quite bad and was admitted as they thought I was having a stroke but it is normal when you are pregnant.

You must call your m/w or the antenatal clinic now because it could be pre-eclampsia, especially if you are over 20 weeks pregnant. The m/w will check you bp and urine for you. Seeing stars might be the only symptom that you are aware of until the condition is very advanced please do not leave it as it is a potentially v serious condition.

I had this as had low bp & low iron. But do as the others advise.

It could be anything but get yourself check out ASAP on the maternity ward, they'll see you very quickly.

Headache and visual disturbances can be a sign of pre-eclampsia which is dangerous for both you and baby.

If you can't get seen by he midwife today I would go to A and E. Better to be safe than sorry, honestly. Good luck.

I hope mad4mybaby is okay. My sister had got the same thing with dd2 at 38 weeks and she had pre eclampsia (she does also get migranes) luckily she went into labour the next day. Saying that I had floaters in my eye last year and the optician told me that with some short sighted people you can get some kind of deposits in your eye, they can wash them out but they need to dilate pupils with some eye drops to check what's going on - just a thought?

been checked out and they said its 'just one of those things' and to blame on pg! ds is fine. monitored and wee and bp check all ok. thanks guys
