At how many weeks did you give birth to your first?

Just curious... wondering what's most "common"... I'm 36 weeks now and really need the full 40 weeks!! Wondering how common that is....

I would like to go at exactly 40 weeks. That would work into all of my plans just perfectly. Any special rituals/dances to make baby come on an exact day, anyone
DH has paternity leave for 2 weeks at full pay (he's a teacher) and if I could go on my due date (oct 12th) then he would get 3 weeks (to include the oct. half term)... and it would work for my planning of other things as well. But I realize more and more that babies don't always do exactly what we want them to
Just being selfish, really... last chance before baby arrives!!

Induced at 41 + 1 (evening), baby born at 41 + 3 (very early am)

39+4 but I think 41+1 is average for th first.

Surely if you went after 40 weeks your DH would also get 3 weeks off (it's just that half-term would be in the middle.

Apparantly nipple stimulation is the thing that works best to bring on babies so get that breast pump out nearer to the time!

AHH!! To the 36 weeks! feeling contractions now ... just kidding!

ninja I think the half term would count as one of the weeks off for paternity leave... (cheeky I know).
Is it ok to use a breast pump before you give birth? I tried it out once, but only for a few seconds. I wouldn't want to run out of colostrum...

My friend is planning a baby shower for me when I'm 39 weeks. Really don't want to ruin it by going into labour early! This is great! It seems that a lot of first babies like to stay inside for a while
