If you were induced in the first pg, were you induced again in the 2nd?

I was induced last time, trying to work out the likelihood of that happening again...

I was induced with ds1 for high blood pressure at 38 weeks. With ds2 everything was fine.

I was induced with ds1 because my waters went and over 24 hours later labour had not started.

Ds2, dd and ds3 all came naturally without induction.

Nearly, two weeks late first time, induced, emergency cs. Two weeks late second time and gave in (very reluctantly) and had elective cs rather than go through induction again. One midwife told me early on that there wasn't necessarily a chance it would happen again, later another midwife told me it was 'highly likely'.

Good question!
I was induced at 42 weeks with dd

Due dc2 in March and hoping to go into labour naturally this time at about 39 weeks please

Induction and em cs for dd followed by two completely normal, un-induced births for ds1 and ds2. I guess likelihood of induction again maybe depends on why you were induced first time around.

I was induced with DS1 due to a large amout of health issues for myself rather than baby.

DS2 however was born with an incredabley easy labour 2 weeks early.

Induced with dd1 and dd2, no.2 was quick for me also....18 minutes! Pregnant with dd3 and hoping for a homebirth and NO induction this time!

Induced with ds1 due to health issues for me - heart probs (I get v bad palpitations), pre-eclampsia starting and I had excrutiating pelvic dysplasia thingy - ouch! I actully enjoyed my inducement - I suppose the staff etc made it ok for me. Mind you I was so sore they could've done anything to me and I've been happy!.. bottom line is it'll probably go the same way again. Heart prob is congenital and I'm naturally double jointed so the pelvic prob will more than likely pop up again this time...

Nope. Induced at 41 weeks with high BP with dd, ended up with emcs. Went into labour at 38 weeks with ds and had VBAC.

no - induced first time due to IUGR but 2nd babe a a good weight and anyway I stayed at home as I didn't want any of the induction rigmarole. Even so, I hated that they wanted to book me in for an indution with the second even before I had reached my due date. Baby fine, mother fine WTF??!!! I found it awfully painful in comparison to a regular birth - no real gaps between contractions and it meant lots more people fiddling round my fanjo. HOpe you don't need it (unless you would prefer it )

No. In fact I was sofa bound 8 weeks before due date because the cervix was already dilated.

the threat of being induced worked with both of mine.
ds1 13 days late, due to get induced the day after.
ds2 15!!! days later, again due to get induced following day.

Yep, induced at 40 + 10, then 40 + 13 this time. I did go into slow labour a day or so after a sweep though this time, so I may have 'properly' gone myself over the next few days anyway.

LadyOfWaffle · 11/09/2008 21:18

Get your epidural before they break your waters though - I ran out of time this time!

Report
SmugColditz · 11/09/2008 21:21

No. I had a much shroter, more natural labour.

Report
Ecmo · 11/09/2008 21:21

I would have been induced with all of mine but I argued against it after the first time as I found it such an unpleasant experience.

no-dd induced as two weeks late. Ds came naturally a week late

I was induced at 40+11, was trying to hang on after hearing induction horror stories but then had a day of nasty false labour pains, so they tried a sweep which hurt then said they couldn't sweep because Ds head still high.
Induction the next day. Sad but in fact luckily went with the first gel so it wasn't the full works.

Did get awfully big and grumpy though, waiting.
