41 weeks and bloody fed up.....

I am so depressed...

I went to hospital last Friday (2 days past my due date), I had a membrane sweep- the doctor told me I was 3 cms dilated and the baby's head was partly engaged.

Also I am going for a VBAC and he told me that as I was sufficiently dilated they would just break my waters instead of going for a Csection. That would happen at the end of this week, but he thought it wouldn't go that far anyway and labour would happen naturally within the next few days.

I proceeded to lose my mucus plug Saturday and was so excited to finally go into labour naturally! Except nothing's happened since, apart from the odd painless Braxton, and I am sooooo depressed.... Will this baby ever come?

Yes! Course it will and very soon....is it your first? My DD1 was 10 days past her due date so I do sympathise, it is very tedious and frustrating and don't you just want to shout at people who ask you if you've had it yet? DOES IT B*DY LOOK LIKE IT? Hold on in there and best of luck!

2nd, but I was induced at 40+6 with first.
My cervix was totally closed, I wasn't even effaced and hadn't had any Braxtons at all. My whole experience of labour then was Pitocin-based.

That's why I was so excited to hear I was dilated and to see the mucus plug come out. Sigh....

Ah poor you, I remember being overdue with both mine very well - was 40+10 with DD then 40+11 with DS. Every day was soooo loooooonnnngggg.

Every niggle had me thinking "ooh is this it?"

Hang in there aurorec

(I'm 33 weeks with DC3 and am telling myself I have 9 weeks to go, not 7, to try to minimise that crushing disappointment!)
