Hello. Recently found out I'm pregnant after trying since last May, when I had mc at 12 weeks. Now, so paranoid things will go wrong again. I am not tired??? So worried as I remember the crippling fatigue with my son who is now 4. Has the baby died inside me again??

I'm sure I've read that the pregnancy symptoms you experience such as sickness, tiredness in no way relate to the health or otherwise of the baby. However, given that you have had a previous mc it shouldn't be too hard to get an early scan. Have you asked if this is possible?
I had a mc last year, and I'm now 9 weeks pregnant again. I haven't been offered an early scan but the midwife did manage to find a heartbeat with a doppler which was very reasssuring.

By early scan, do you mean less than 12 weeks? I will have one then, (that's how I found out the baby had died last time).

Think of all the people who never even know they are pg, and go on to have healthy babies. I know a RL one of these people now, who only found out she was pg at 14 weeks! Sometimes there are no symptoms, and everything is still absolutely fine. Best of luck.

With my dd I never felt tired at any point during my pregnancy - people used to be astonished by how much energy I had (and actually, although all ended well I had a high risk pregnancy as dd didn't grow and I had pre-eclampsia). I am now almost 13 weeks pregnant and have been exhausted all the time so don't think it is necessarily an indicator.

Don't worry too much about symptoms - I had none at all - no tiredness, no sickness, nothing and I am now 38 weeks! In previous pregancy I was very very tired and I was much younger then!! Get an early scan to reassure you.

The reasonable side of me is telling me to stop panicking, and that I'm paranoid for obvious reasons, but it's STRESS CITY in my head.
I didn't give up drinking wine when trying, (cos I thought I was infertile), and so now I'm convinced it's all my fault if it's gone wrong

AAL, yes, by early scan I do mean before 12 weeks. How long do you need to wait until the early scan? Unfortunately there always seems to be a lot of waiting with pregnancy and maybe that is all you can do.

BTW - am I the only person not to get offered an early scan after a mc? I decided to be brave and not to ask for one but it seems like other people don't even need to ask.

I know how you feel, I cope by just passing the time as best as possible, trying to keep busy at work (or spend all day on MN).

I went for an early scan privately as I was convinced it had/would all go wrong the second time too after a miscarriage. It cost 120 quid and I felt it was money well spent (although I started worrying again almost immediately after)

Forget about the drinking - not many people do give it up while trying (or not trying) and many many women have continued their normal drinking for all those weeks until they find out they are pregnant. The important thing is to stop when you know you are pregnant. If drinking caused miscarriages half the babies currently born would never happen!! Before anyone shouts at me I'm not suggesting that its ok to get plastered while pregnant but it is true that there is almost nothing you can do to either prevent a miscarriage or to cause one under normal circumstances. I was drinking absynth on New year's Eve last year with no idea I had just fallen pregnant.

I've just had my 12 week scan and my baby was fine but I have no symptoms at all. With my first 2 I was exhausted and sick and had giant boobs but I don't feel anything this time.

As you have had a mc, your gp should be able to refer you to an EPU for a scan just in case.

I got an early scan (6 weeks) because of complex medical history even though I hadn't had a mc. Push to get one done for your own peace of mind. I know it's easy to say but there is such a good chance that all is fine, people's symptoms seem to vary so much. Good luck!

I'll be 6 weeks on Sunday, and I'm not tired either. Scary, as I was really tired last week and felt more pregnant! I was nauseous and off certain foods too, and that's gone away this week. This is my first pregnancy so I have no idea what to think. I've convinced myself I've got a blighted ovum and am going to try to get the GP to send me for an early scan.

EightiesChick , can I ask what the medical complexities were? I'm hoping that because I have PCOS and have been trying for about 3 years to get pregnant, that the GP will let me have an early scan, even though I've not had a miscarriage. I see her tomorrow.

Where would someone go to get a scan privately? I live near Manchester if anyone has any suggestions/knowledge about this!

Hi Don't worry about the drinking, my pregnancy was a complete surprise, not planned in anyway and I was drinking ( I wouldn't say like a fish but it was easter weekend!!!) So I would have been about 4 weeks pregnant at the time - I don't think about it too much!

I am now nearly 27 weeks and by all accounts all scans, tests etc everything is going to plan and judging by the athletic booting thats going on in my tummy at all angles I am assuming the baby is fit and well.

Like Wellbalanced says before you blink it will be here

Hi
Iv recently round out I’m pregnant 3+ weeks and been having a lot of cramps and the occasional back ache, I’m really worried as I don’t know if this is normal as this is my first time pregnant.

Looking for advice, this is my first pregnancy and I have Pcos... I've got no symptoms other than sore nipples and they seem more alert then normal... I'm not experiencing morning sickness or fatigue.. When I got my postive pregnancy test I was napping a little though the day but that's stopped now.. And having mild cramps nothing major which I'm still getting now and then. Is this normal I'm currently 5 weeks 3 days pregnant and I feel I should feel more then I do or is this completely normal. I've got a reassurance scan which I've paid for privately as I had a one I paid for and they couldn't detect baby or heart beat but I was only 4 weeks then so I was advised to rebook a scan for 2 weeks later which I have, I'm just really hoping everything's okay.. After trying for over 2 years and this been the first time I've ever fell, never had a mc before or anything so I really don't no how I should feel really

I had no symptoms at all until around 7 weeks, and then I got terrible morning sickness.

I had no fatigue, and no sore breasts. Everyone’s symptoms are different, but it’s not at all unusual to have no symptoms before 6 weeks or so.

Good luck!

Also, where did you do your scan that let you do it at 4 weeks? That is highly unusual and genuinely shocking that they took your money for a scan when you won’t be seeing anything at 4 weeks.

I would wait until maybe 7 weeks at least. At 6 weeks you might not see a heartbeat yet, so you could be stressing yourself out unnecessarily if you go for the scan but there’s no heartbeat, simply because it’s too early.

I had the same fears as you as I didn’t show any signs of pregnancy whatsoever at first (until 7 weeks), but I made sure to get the assurance scan at 8 weeks just to ensure there’s a heartbeat.

Window to the womb and the reason for going to the scan was because I was going off the last day of my period which made me 6weeks but when I went I wasn't, it was just the guidelines I went off, and booked the scan but from the day I had my donation as I'm a lesbian women was the 21st of April so when I went on the 19th of May it only made me four weeks when I went to the scan all they could see was the gestation sac and the yolk sac so they still took the money for the scan and I've got another one booked in for the 7th of June by this point I will be 6weeks 5 days. And my only symptoms are crazy dreams, bloating and sore nipples that is coming and going
