about 2 stone, if you started at a normal weight. Actually that's ideal weight gain - I'm sure average is much higher!

5lbs up to 20 weeks, then 1lb per week after that, so around 25lbs in total, and 18lbs for you so far.

A normal healthy weight gain is between 2 and 2 and a half stone, assuming that you weren't overweight to start with. Even if you're overweight, then it isn't recommended to lose any weight in pregnancy.
I heard that between 0 and 5 pounds for the first trimester (13 weeks), then a pound a week after that, which gives between 27 and 32 pounds.

I bet that kat is right though, and the average is higher!

Well I've put on nearly 4 stone , but only gone up 1 dress size. I wasn't overweight or underweight to begin with. I think the 'ideal' and the 'actual' are quite different in most women's experience so don't worry about it. It's inevitable and needed. I am looking forward to hitting the gym though!

I'm at 33 weeks and have only gained 4lbs but was slightly overweight to start and have been ill for the last few months. Baby is growing normally, I'm just getting thinner. I do eat, just don't keep much food down.

Last time I gained 2 stone.

I don't think they worry too much about weight gain in the UK but here are the recommended figures used in America

Total Weight Gain General Guidelines
Body Type Target Weight Gain

Underweight (BMI under 19.8) 28-40 Pounds
Normal weight (BMI 19.8 - 26.0) 25-35 Pounds
Overweight (BMI 26.0 - 29.0) 15-25 Pounds
Obese (BMI over 29.0) 15 Pounds

i'm 32 weeks and can tell that again i'll come out thinner than i was before i got pregnant once this one is born.

all three of them have done nothing but make me horribly sick plus given me dire acid reflux.

i can hardly eat more than a tiny portion of anything at once and never eat after about 7PM or will be up all night puking or lunging for the Gavison.
