I have a 15 month gap between DS1 and DD.
Twas hard, but still a happy time.

You ask yourself if you have enough love to give to another child, but you do.

BuzzyBee
I have a 13 month gap between DS1 & DS2. It was really hard as was always tired (both during pregnancy and afterwards)but I firmly believe that these things happen for a reason. I can remember finding out I was PG with DS2 and feeling so scared as I was just finding my way with DS1 but I coped so Im sure you will. Once it all sinks in Im sure you will be happy about the news. Congratulation!

congratulations and am sure you will be fine. I am due to have my c-section on the 2nd and DS will be 11months old on the 1st september!

am sure i will cope but am getting fed up with people telling me it will be hard work. i know it will ffs but it will be worth it.

No personal experience but a friend has just had her second ds only 9 months after her first, they will be in the same year at school.

I saw her at the weekend and she was wearing her pre pregnancy clothes and a full face of make up, looking happy and content and enthusing about the joys of having children so close together.

So good luck and congratulations!!!!

my ds2 and dd are just under 14 months apart (ds2 is just 2 yrs and dd in 10 months) and it's great! they sleep at the same time etc, he is far too young to be jealous

the only part i found hard was being heavily pregnant and having a little one to carry, lift into car seat/high chair etc.

would strongly reccomend a good sling! i had a kari-me and just put dd in when we went to playgroups/park etc so i could follow ds2 around as normal.

congratulations

Be careful of your back! That I think is the only downside of such a close age gap- being pregs and carrying the other one around. There is 12 months between ds1 and 2 and I am really pleased they are so close.

Have 5 dcs altogether and they are definitely the closest 2.

Congratulations - it's good fun having 2 so close

I have a 14 month gap between my middle 2, it was hard work at first but mainly because the younger one had undiagnosed silent reflux so screamed a lot and didn't nap during the day!

However no regrets they have grown up together, play and fight with each other and you get the baby stage then the toddler stage overwith at the same time.

hi buzzy bee. i am in a similar place. we found out when our ds was 4 months that i had fallen pg on the pill again. our son will be around 12- 13 months when bump comes and our dd will be 3.5.

we really struggled when we found out as i was so ill when pg with ds and since he was born he has been very ill and failure to thrive due to undeveloped stomach. he is only now at ten mounths taking his first tastes of solids. however he is the happiest baby around and even though my dd does my head in with her constant chatting she is a big help.

i am starting to leave ds with mil for a couple of hours now and again so that he is used to it just incase of c section or soemthing. also i use my dd alot. she bends and gets the nappy and wipes for me etc. picks up toys he drops and things like that. i found that is a god send.

i have no plans for when the baby is born, just to go with the flow. i will let you know how i survive if you want.

A good friend of mine fell pregnant with her 3rd when her 2nd was only 6 weeks old- so there's just 11 months between them. She said the hardest thing was the actual pregnancy, as her body hadn't really recovered from having #2- she got bad SPD and ended up on crutches- but the physios helped a lot and as she said in the bigger picture this was only for a short while. She was also still breastfeeding #2 and found that and the pregnancy hormones really drained her so she had to quit BFing earlier than she'd wanted to- but that seems to vary a lot with ladies, some manage to keep feeding all the way through subsequent pregnancies and some even then tandem feed!

Now her 2 middle children (she even went on to have a 4th, but over 2 years later!!) are incredibly close, so in the long run this has worked really well.

Good luck x

My ds1 was just 5 months when I found out I was pg with ds2. I also had a 3yr old dd at the time.

It was the pregnancy that was the hardest tbh.
ds1 absolutely loves ds2 to bits. Its lovely to see them play together.

13 months between ds1 and ds2; have also got ds3 and ds4 so didn't out me off!

second the sling- mine is a close3, but it has to be right for you- and then you can use a single buggy as ften as possible. also a swing for when both need rocking.

good luck- I loved it. oh and congrats

I fell pregnant with ds2 when ds1 was 6 months old, so there is 15 months between them and they play nicely most of the time. I am now pregnant again with my 3rd. Ds1 is 2.3 ds2 is 11 months and i'm 9 wks pregnant, so there will be a gap of 17 months between the 2nd and 3rd.
Its hard work with my ds's now, but fun. just harder now i'm pregnant, just because of my morning sickness.
This thread has made me really excited about having 3 under 3.
