Am nearly 13 weeks and honestly feel more sick, I think - is that possible??? I'm so glad I do feel sick in a way as had a scare a couple of days ago, but it's so debilatating and just can't function normally/play with kids properly etc

Why isn't it getting better at this stage????

Dinny yes this is the way it can go - worse before it gets better iyswim.

The levels of HCG and progesterone (the naughty sicky one) rise and rise during the pregnancy, but at around 13/14 weeks the placenta takes over production in situ so it isn't circulating in your bloodstream so wildly!

Waiting for this bit is hat you are doing now and once it happens you will feel things start to ease off - in some they disappear overnight!

oh PLEASE let that happen soon - I feel just HORRIBLE and it gives me a headache too, oh YUK

so if am 13 weeks tomorrow it may not be long

I want to eat healthily and play with the kids properly again! Also, it is LOADS worse at night and am doing a late shift tomorrow at work - just don't know how I'll cope....

Aw Dinny...

Mine was pretty awful from the start but at 13/14 weeks I noticed I could think about/do other things iyswim. It wasn't all- consuming.

I reckon that will happen to you imminently

yeah, mine has been hideous since about 7 weeks, but really has notched up a gear in last couple of days

think with dd it tailed off about 12 but ds kept on till about 20 weeks, just praying it's not going to last that long

How is your appetite Dinny? I am just over 9 weeks and my appetite has really diminished. Hoping it will resurface soon. I used to so enjoy my food.

I am either starving or totally repulsed by food, CG

can I ask - is it really pathetic to stay off work because of sickness?

MW said by 16 weeks I will probably be better, am 11 weeks now. Go to your GP and get some anti nausea drugs, they really worked for me although I didn't like taking them I couldn't function and look after my 21 month old and I couldn't eat.

I'd just be so worried taking drugs, Tapster, I don't take paracetomol even when pg

Dinny no not pathetic at all. Do whatever helps you.
I wasn't at work and wondered if I'd have coped better with some distraction!

Phenergan can really help (promethazine) and is prescribed/sold for children as travel sickness tabs (same dose if you like!) so not dangerous at all.

But I understand where you're coming from

I was begging for anything myself

mine got worse before it got better, in fact my last week was so awful i vomited so hard i broke blood vessels around my eyes [totally f*cking gorgeous] and then within a day or so it was gone. i htink mine ended around 13/14 weeks. hang in there. it is hell but temporary.

Dinny mine was still 'there' till 20 weeks+
but it was way more in the background iyswim.

Hoping yours goes soon. I want a third child but am scared of having an awful pregnancy again!!

Dinny - I have been signed off for two weeks - some might say it is pathetic but I can't function normally when I feel like this. I haven't been sick yet but yesterday had five occasions of dry heaving - would hate to have to be doing that over a filthy work toilet bowl ick.... Do what you have to do I'd say and don't worry what anyone thinks. The way I see it I would rather stay home from work than take medication that may or may not be safe.

The retching is awful isn't it? Sometimes I wish I could be sick rather than go through that....I know you feel like you are letting people down but if I were you I would take a week at home and hopefully it will have all gone away by then.
