anyone know when you should/should not be taking rasberry leaf tea?

I've been drinking it by the gallon! It says on the box to be taken from 35wks onwards as it ripens the uterus and could be dangerous any earlier than 35wks.

And I drank buckets of the stuff from about 35wks - and it did nothing for me what so ever LOL

39 wks with ds. I had 3 cups of it and my waters broke 6 hrs later!!! Probably coincidence..... but just in case it wasn't, I started drinking it at 35 wks with my dd. Switched to the tablets at 37wks as the tea gave me heartburn..... dd was born at 39wks also.

Don't know if it worked, but if there is a next time I'm too superstitious not to try it again!

My friend is a midwife and the day I went into get induced she was telling me about pregnant mums eating fresh pineapple by the bucket load, I think it does the same as the tea. Give it ago

From 35 weeks drink it whenever you feel really 'moreish' for a cup of hot musty hay!

At 41 weeks, 30 minutes before my waters broke.

I took it from about 35 weeks and had a very good labour. Doesn't seem to work for everyone but I'd give it a go.

I drank is non-stop from about 35 weeks and had a VERY quick labour. I also used homeopathic remedies as well which could also have helped. It turns my stomach now if I even smell the stuff, I drank so much!

Pineapple works the same way castor oil does.... it irriates the bowel and gives you a sore tummy! In theory, if you are nearly in labour the irritation on your bowel can tip you over the edge (so to speak ) and kick off contractions.

RLT doesn't work like that. It is supposed to ripen the cervix. Which might not put you into labour, but can mean a speedier labour when it comes. Don't know what's in it though!

I don't think it matters whether you take tea or tablets. The tea will mean more fluids going in which could help prevent UTI's in later pregnancy, however it gave me really bad heartburn! So I resorted to double strength tablets.

Sorry but it didn't do anything for me .... failed induction that ended in a c-section ... Mind you, DD was so big (10lbs 10oz) that if I hadn't had the c-s I would still be pregnant now (she is 12 months old!!!)
