Hi this is my 3rd baby its been 7 almost 8yrs since my last baby,i have had 2 mc inbetween that time i got a bfp 2 weeks ago and dr has confirmed it yesterday(according to lmp 22/6/08 i'm 9 weeks).

I got my first Mw appointment on mon but i cant help worry about mc can they tell from your urine if your hcg is normal??

my symptoms have been coming and going and i was really woried over the wait for gp to confirm, but he has confirmed it now and sent me my first antenatal appt. I was expecting him to say you are pg but your hcg is low and your mc or something. sorry if this sound stupid i think i have been over reading threads on mumsnet and now have mc and missed mc playing on my mind. thanks.

The hcg urine test is a simple yes or no and it doesn't give you a number, only the blood test can give you a number and the absolute number itself is not very helpful as it is the speed that it is increasing that gives clues to what is going on inside.

Probably not what you want to hear but a blood test would not be able to put your mind at ease either as the levels can do funny things and I've seen miscarriage with high hcgs and normal pregnancies with low and slowly increasing ones.

It is completely normal and understandable to worry, especially with your history but Congratulations! Right now you are pregnant! One of the most horrible things is that noone can predict how your pregnancy will go and there is little you can do to influence it. The vast majority of pregnancies progress fine, take it one day at a time and try and enjoy the moment - I know that must be really hard. Congratulations and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you
