Could I be pregnant whilst on the pill?

Hi,

I don?t know if this is the right place to post this, but here goes?

I am new on here, but after trying to find the answer to my query via google I am no clearer. I would appreciate any help you could give me please.

I recently started taking the mini pill. On a trip to France six weeks ago, I was sick about one hour after taking the pill and continued to be ill for the rest of the ferry crossing (I had not been sea sick before). We took other precautions for the rest of the week as the instructions said so.
However, we had sex shortly before I took the pill. Would I still have been protected by the pill or not?

My period was due three days ago and I also did not bleed last month ? but I was told to expect this when taking the mini pill at the start. My boobs have also become slightly tender over the past two weeks ? again I was told this could happen.

I did a test last night using one my friend had had in her cabinet for some time, which showed ?ve. But, the test had passed the expiry date by 3 months. Would this still be accurate?

I have been taking the pill at the same time every day and thought we had followed the instructions what to do if I was ill so I was not really concerned until now. My friend says I am worrying unnecessarily.

I am confused as to what to do next. The symptoms I have are both common to taking the mini pill and early pregnancy. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I am pregnant, when i was cleaning my bathroo cupboard out the other i found an out of date test so thought may as well use it instead of throwing it away, so i did and it was positive-so my point is it probably still works the same being out of date? Id get another one just to check.

I fell pregnant whilst taking the mini-pill with no sickness or anything.

I still take the mini-pill now and as my periods stop altogether when I'm taking it, I always do a test every couple of months just to make sure!

do you mean the test was positive or negative?

Hi everybody,

Thanks for taking time to post your comments and advice.

Probably what I needed was honest comments, not those of a well-meaning friend.

I went and bought a test earlier today and after plucking up enough courage did the test. The test read "pregnant" !!

Now I have calmed down a bit, as this was not the answer I was hoping for, I thought I would come back on here to thank you for telling me what I should have known.

My bf returns home from the US next week so I have some time to work out what to say, although at the moment I haven't a clue. Hopefully inspiration will come my way soon.

ah congratulations

I too fell pregnant on the pill and was terrified when I found out so if you're feeling scared and a bit confused, I think it's pretty normal.

Dd arrived just 15 months after her brother when I was on the mini pill.

She has turned out to be the best sort of accident!

Hope things work out for you.
