do you have regular periods? not on the coil, the pill, etc?

if you have regular periods, are not on the coil/pill/recent miscarriage, etc. then they won't give you an early scan most likely.

but you can buy one privately for about 50 quid.

does it matter if you don't know? I didn't know with either of mine. They do that dating scan at 11-13 weeks I think it is. That was when they got the best idea of my due date both times.

I had an early scan with my first one but they said it wasn't v reliable for dating purposes but things may have moved on since then (this was about 8 years ago).

Hi fairyfly, I was in a similar situation, in that I suddenly found myself pregnant, no idea when I conceived, as i'd been on the pill and wasn't paying any attention to whether or not I bled abit in the 7 day break between new pill packs. When I told my GP I had no idea when I concieved he referred me for a dating scan immediately, even handed me the referral form in person so I could go in person to the scan reception to book an appointment as that was much quicker than waiting for them to contact me. I went there the next day and was offered an appointment the very next day. So in summary, i'm pretty sure they will book you in for a dating scan too.

You could try to get your hands on one of the free pregnancy tests that MN is getting people to trial. The thread to apply is at the top of active converstations.

The test tells you approximately how pregnant you are, up to about 6 (or could be 8) weeks.

I didn't dare post again on my mobile, the risk of repeated posting was too exciting.

I had my scan and then had a miscarriage, so next time i will just wait until i cannot see my pubes before having a nose in my belly.

If there is a next time, i've clamped my clam.
