Okay, so I know due dates have been done to death but what about due dates by scan - did you have yours changed and how accurate was it?

My due date by LMP is the 13th Sept and my due date by scan is the 19th. We're working off the the later date because I assume it is more accurate - just wondered if your date had been changed how close you were to that one.

Clearly I'm now entering that final month when patience starts to run out and I want to know NOW when my baby's coming

My due date by LMP was 2nd Sept, but by scan it's 24th August. So we'll see!

Guess which one I'm hoping for?

Scan date was 4th Nov and had DS on 6th - although I was induced cos of HBP doc said I would probably have given birth naturally no later than 7th

Scans are more accurate in the main. My dates have changed each time after the scan. Still went later 3/4 times anyway!

DS was early but I feel like I'm going to be cursed with going over for this one.

It must be annoying having an earlier scan due date, in a way, Cyteen, although I suppose it helps you get ready earlier than you might have otherwise done.

Ooh no, I want him to turn up by Sunday. I can't be doing with another week of heaving my vast bulk around the place!

My scan date was 16 Aug and my LMP date 22 Aug, so 6 days different. I was taking ovulation tests and have a short cycle (26 days) so think that somewhere in between most likely to be accurate...but as I haven't given birth yet I can't really comment on that bit!

Until 2 weeks ago I was sticking rigidly to the later date (even though my notes say the earlier one) but then started get hopeful for the earlier one and believing that people looking at me and saying 'ooh what a big bump, you won't go overdue' actually meant something! So I would say go by the later date just to keep yourself sane as it is maddening if you go over .

Feel free to join us on the 'Are we there yet' thread for a good old whinge some solidarity in the last few weeks.

I thought I would be due on 3rd Feb and when I had a 12 week scan they said I was due on 22nd Jan. Not huge difference, but did suprise me as I was spot on with ds date!

First thing I thought was goody I can leave work well before christmas work starts lol!

Humph...my due date is 5/11 and as baby was conceived using assisted reproduction I know the day we concieved. I keep having arguments with medical staff about this though, as the scan date suggests several days earlier.

TBH it doesn't matter that much to me, most babies aren't born on their due date anyway. The only time it might be important is if I go overdue in which case it becomes very important if I want to avoid induction.

With ds1 I think that my scan date was 11 days before my calculated date, but as ds1 is an IVF baby we went with the calculated date (and he was late). My hospital automatically change your date if the scan date is more than 7 days out from your LMP date. Best to assume the latest date I'm afraid!

Mine is the other way round. My date is two weeks earlier than the scan date.

I keep telling 'em - I was there when I conceived! And, believe me, it was a pretty rare event, your date means immaculate conception! I will probably be proved completely wrong!

My dates from my scan are 8/12 but my MW said based on my LMP was 27/11 so who knows not quite sure about the conception day as it was a surprise but 11 days is a big difference so who knows I am going with Scan date for now!

My scan dates have been out both times. I know that my LMP date is right, I also know my ovulation date and conception date as I had fertility treatment.
I am umming and ahhing now, as I'm a bit big for dates (as is DD), just like last time. So I'm torn between letting the scan dates stand so that I'm not flagged as abnormally big, or insisting on the right dates in case I go over and they insist on induction because they think that I'm later than I am.
