You know when you are having those 'can't remember when I felt it move' moments

What do you do to wake your baby up?

drink coffee? icy drinks?

Just wondering

ice cold full-fat coca cola. works every time.

The hospital told me to lie down quietly and drink a large glass of really cold water (ie full glass of ice with water in!) and it worked.

It was a while back, but a bath was always a good time for movements to happen. And an ice cold McDonald's milk shake really got her jumping.

Gave my tummy a good jiggle and a bit of a poke.

Chocolate is a good one too.

I used to poke him. He would poke back.

Ice cold, full fat coke.

A good poke gets a response 99% of the time.

Laying down on my left side (best position for placental blood flow) and being still for a while.

Any cold drink - also for me, when I do my pelvic floor exercises it seems to make him jiggle quite a bit! hmm

Loud music

belgo Mon 18-Aug-08 16:42:34

my two little girls yell down my belly button. That usually wakes him/her up.

tassisssss Mon 18-Aug-08 16:52:58

really cold drinks

or fizzy

or just lie down

or have a bath

dinkystinky Mon 18-Aug-08 17:05:15

milky drinks drove my DS hyper - that and a lie down listening to certain music (liked pop, hated classical)

Bath was the time mine always used to move around. Have one at the time you would usually feel it move if possible.

Anything sweet (as I don't usually eat sweets)

Drink a cold sugary drink and then lie down on my side. Usually works.

Romy7 Mon 18-Aug-08 21:58:32

balancing a cup of tea on bump.

balancing a cold drink on bump.

bath - actually, it got so i couldn't bath, because the wrestling was making me feel too queasy. it was like he was trying to fight his way out (which he ultimately did)

labour with ds1. the midwife eyed the writhing mass that was my bump and said 'goodness. has baby been like that all the time? normally they calm down when the uterus is contracting' and eyed me suspiciously over her horn rims.
