oh oh......... could last a few weeks yet, should be till about 12 weeks usually, that is when placenta takes over from yolk sac and hormones lessen.

Be careful, I was horrendously sick at 6 weeks for about 3 days and ended up in hospital with dehydration on drip.

I am sure that wont happen with you though x

Poor you, mine started when I was about 7 weeks and lasted until I was around 16 weeks, which coinsided (sp?) with me feeling the baby kick for the 1st time! Everyone is different though and every pregnancy is different too so don't be down-hearted if you hear some horror stories because it doesn't mean that's how you will be, and remember, it will pass

I have been pretty sick with all of my pregnancies(4).
With the first it started at 5.5 weeks until 13 weeks. I lost 2 stone in 2 weeks, the doctor eventually gave me an injection of stemetil, then suppositories, then tablets.

Depending on your GP,some are sympathetic, others are very out of date, and wont give you anything as they say its unsafe!

In an ideal world,it would be better to avoid any medications, but Stemetil and Maxalon are safe before 12 weeks.

With my 2nd pregnancy I was admitted, which was the best thing I did,as within a day I felt so much better, and was eating and drinking things that I couldnt even look at before.

As I was so dehydrated it made the sickness worse. So keep a glass of water by your side constantly, and take sips rather tham mouthfuls.

If it does get worse, don't avoid "help" that is offered,be it tablets or a stay in hospital,as it seems forever when you are sick, and you feel so low and lethargic, but with some assistance it can be managable and pass quickly. HTH

Hi, my morning sickness was at it's worst for about 3 weeks and then gradually wore off. I started feeling much better during the days but the evenings were still quite rough for another couple of weeks.

I am now 25 weeks and the sickness has been gone for a while now.

I know it feels like there is no end to what you are going through but mine got better and I am sure yours will ease off too.

Started feeling sick at 6w this time round. Now 10w and nausea still going strong. Some days feel almost normal and others can barley eat. With ds1 started at 10w until 16w so no telling really.

Best advice I can give is get outside as fresh air makes me feel loads better.

Good luck.

DS1 - 14 weeks
DS2 - 25 weeks
This pregnancy - stopped at 12 and a half weeks. (only 13 so could we start again)

I found ice cold drinks helped.

About 16 weeks with both of mine. It isn't nice but it is a sign that your body is doing its job looking after the baby until the placenta takes over ....

DD2 - 5wks - 21wks
3rs preg - 5wks - ??

Am now 10.5 weeks and still v sick although I believe it peaks at 9-10 weeks so hopefully this is as bad as it gets. Still not as bad this time as first two, but still feel crap and am fed up of throwing up! I'd like to be normal and stop feeling sick at 12wks, that'd be great! But am not holding my breath.

Good luck to you. xx

1st pregnancy nothing

2nd - from 3 weeks till 20 weeks. Nearly hospitalised three times, and collapsed a few times too.

1st pregnancy - bad nausea and a bit of morning puking from 5-18 weeks.

This pregnancy - severe morning sickness from 6 - 16 wks, had to be hospitalised, it was utterly, utterly grim. Thank god it passed.

You have my sympathies. And I cross my fingers for you that it passes quickly.

First time around 22 weeks.
This time 14 weeks.
It's so variable between women though, there really is no way to predict. I hope that yours calms down soon.

I thought mine was over this pregnancy but was sick again this morning (23 weeks). Last time it lasted the whole pregnancy, with two months break from vomiting from about week 20-28. I'm assured this is pretty rare, but my best friend had the same thing.

Thanks for all the responses.....seems it is so different for everyone. I just hope that if it does go on for weeks and weeks more, that it at least improves a bit so it is only in morning or evening. It is the constant nausea that is really getting me down - there just seems to be no let up from it.

I almost wish I could vomit so that the nausea would go for a moment or two, but absolutely hate throwing up (have a slight phobia of sick and have only been sick a few times in my life...usually through alcohol )

They say that you feel sicker with a girl than a boy.
Don't know if that's right as i have two girls but i did feel worse with my second!
The sickness with DD1 started at 6 weeks like you then suddenly went by 14 weeks and the first thing i felt like eating was a Macdonalds!
The the heartburn took over for the rest of the pregnancy , but at least it was MUCH better than constantly feeling sick but not being sick.
With DD2 it started at around 8 weeks and went on until 20 weeks and i was sick almost every day but only once, usually in the evenings.
But although it's horrible, it is strangely comforting as you know your baby is alright.
Before DD2 i had a miscarriage the year before and i started to feel the sickness at around 6 weeks then it stopped all of a sudden and then 2 days later started bleeding.

Hi ladies.
I am currently 8 weeks pregnant. At 6 wks i began bleeding. Went into hospital and they said I had a bleed in my uterus. I continued bleeding heavily so had a second scan and again it was confirmed that I have a large bleed (Haematoma) in my uterus just under where my baby is. I am still bleeding quite a bit, but no cramps at all. I was just wondering if anyone else had been through this and how long it took for the bleeding to stop? Its my 1st pregnancy and it took us 3 years to conceive so I am a little stressed about it all! any advice would be welcome.

thanks xx

Last 2 pregnancies constant nausea, with subsequent antenatal depression until about 16 weeks. Was awful but I felt relieved to have the nausea knowing things were well! Now almost 6 weeks with#5 and waiting for nausea to set in! Everyone is different though as you have read! Ultimately it's a small price for a beautiful ending! X

I stopped at exactly 12 wks, also the day I after I finished work for the summer holidays, so don't know if it was the sun and rest that did it.

I used to wear travel sickness wrist bands and they really helped. Boots sell them.

DC1: sick from 9-16 weeks

Current pregnancy: Constant nausea and food aversions ended at 12ish weeks, now at 16 weeks I feel fine but still vomit when dd goes for a poo Blush- thank god she's out of nappies!- and sometimes when brushing teeth. But the relief of feeling generally fine is huge!

This is my first pregnancy and I was sick from 7 weeks to 13 weeks. I had really bad nausea most days and was physically sick on 4 or 5 occasions. It did get me down at times but remind yourself it is usually a sign of a strong pregnancy and it does usually wear off by weeks 12-14.

Up until 11+5 exactly. At which point I suddenly felt amazing. I've even been able to brush my teeth!

Mainly crossing my fingers that it doesn't come back...
