A question about.......ahem........'down below'

Sorry in advance for TMI, but I've tried to post this at a time when, nocturnal heartburn being what it is, most of you probably won't be eating.
Why do all of the pregnancy books fail to mention the fact that after a certain point the 'downstairs department' becomes out of sight if not in possession of a full set of mirrors.
Having never experienced the joys of waxing ( the closest I've got to a brazilian was a nut at Christmas) I've spent the last half hour waddling around covered in Immac - and believe me - the fact that it ended up on target was more by luck than judgement.
So, how have the rest of you managed? Or have you all gone 'au naturel' until after delivery.
Is waxing advisable in late pregnancy or should I just have got my act together sooner?

i considered taking my dd2 swimming this week, bur decided that my bush was probably a state and there was no way i could see there to tidy it up. and dh wasnt about so i couldnt ask him, and tbh he'd probably run a mile if i asked him lol.

Dh used to wash my feet when I had a shower as I couldn't bend over and I was also scared incase I slipped over, he had to help me out as well.

Amusing thread with title like 'Did you tidy up your garden before the birth' recently. As I was a confirmed non-gardener, thought, blimey, I didn't even really clean the house.

i waxed during pregnancy and had the TV moment of the beautician saying, 'do you think its alright?' and me replying, 'i dunno, i can't see it at all' and her having to get a mirror. How embarrassing. However, I missed my last waxing appointment (on my due date) as there is only so fast you can run when late and 9 months pregnant. So I had to do the home immac job. Ended up slathering the stuff everywhere and it was a real botch job. I wasn't pleased when i went into labour 4 days later and things still looked a mess. I think I actually said to the midwife, 'please don't look at my bits as its not very neat!' (I didn't care about 2 minutes later during a contraction mind you!) SO the moral of my story is... it probably really doesn't matter about the waxing, but if you want to have it done, don't arrive late to your appointment and if all else fails, get you DP to help with the immac!

DH has been a bit squeamish during the late stages of this pregnancy. We're expecting twins and though before with our previous two singleton pregnancies we were doing the curry, sex thing to try and start labour, this time around we have both felt differently. It is so uncomfortable being this huge. But, yes, I'm sure he would have obliged with the Immac (Match of the day wasn't on tonight.) Maybe I can get some erotic toenail- clipping thang goin' on

haven't read the other posts, but waxing is totally safe in pregnancy.

I had a 'special' (waxers words, not mine) a couple of days before my CS. Recovering from this over the w/e was waaaay more painful than the CS recovery. I kid you not!
Was extremely pissed off that nobody in theatre noticed what a neat job it was .

I got Dh to "prepare" me when I went in for my planned section. I really didn't fancy being used for a training session for a nervious embarrised student nurse with a bic disposible .

Said student did look a bit disapointed when I said sorry I've already been "done" .

as my due date arrived my mum shaved my legs and tidied up my private area - was too scared dh would have an accident

My hair's so course that it's much better left or it seems to get stubbly within hours! Otherwise the LO's entrances would have been akin to attempting to dive head first through a hawthorn!

BTW just checked the damage after my Immac session last night and 'hit and miss' is an understatement.

I did it myself for as long as I could then gave up and went natural! Who cares, bet midwives see far worse - at least I was clean!

I started the thread about tidying the garden a while back as I always wondered what others did!

I avioided it. Knew there was a forest down there but really couldn't be bothered to try and find it.

Post birth, I virtually had to take shears to it

I went to the local beauty center and I had waxing, it was more painful then usual as I was sweating,it was really hot last August!

But I'm glad I did it....

Just feel clean and smooth for about a month!

I went for the CarrieG approach and got dh to sort it out.really wasn't bothered about the birth but was taking ds swimming until the day before and also easier to clean up afterwards.
