Persistent cough???

Anyone else had this whilst pregnant? It kicked off around 12 weeks - been checked out by my GP a couple of times and my chest is clear. But here I am now at 28/29 weeks and still coughing for England. It is so annoying, seems to get worse when I start talking so Dh has suggested that I keep quiet!!!!! Funnily enough I had it as well with DS, but I put that down to dust from building works in our house at the time.

merlin, an incredibly common cause of chronic cough is acid reflux (which obviously a lot of women get when pg). here's a webpage from one of the UK's top cough people about that & other causes too.

Bundle - thanks for the link - it's very interesting and sounds just like me! Especially the bit about talking on the telephone aggravating the cough. Guess I shall just have to soldier on til baby is born and hopefully it will disappear.

you can take gaviscon etc during pg - talk to your gp about it, to see if s/he thinks that might be the issue

my gp's comment before was "oh it must just be something particular that happens to you in pregnance" !!!! DH suggested printing out the article and showing him!!!! Am getting a bit of heartburn now and again so a bit of Gaviscon might kill 2 birds .... PS. On a completely different subject I've just realised looking at this thread that the names are of my 2 lovely cats I had years ago and sadly had to give them away - my little Bundle and Merlin!!! (Sorry pregnancy hormones kicking in now...)
