Pregnancy

a bit of bleeding

Hi, I'm new to the board. I was wondering if anyone has experienced a bit of bleeding at about 3 months before. It was a tiny amount last night, with no pain and I have not had any since. I went to the hospital last night and they examined me and said everything looked ok but not to get my hopes up. I have been unable to speak to a midwife today to get some reassurance but am booked in for a scan tomorrow. I scared of doing anything and know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. I have a S who is 2 and had the perfect pregnancy. This one I have just felt sick and tired the whole time. Anyone experienced this?

i bled at 12 weeks with dd - everything fine

i bled at 21 weeks with ds (more blood this time) - again everything was fine and bled again at 36.5 weeks in hosp as i was just getting my c/section drugs and prep done for the op in a couple of days. Everything fine

Hopefully its just one of those things - so relax and take care

Hi JB - welcome to MN. I'm sorry your first post is something that's so worrying for you though.

I had a bleed with DS at 10 weeks and when I went to the hospital the (horrible) doctor told me to prepare for the worst. As it is, DS will be nine months old on Monday - I had a trouble-free pregnancy after that one bleed.

If you're not experiencing pain and the bleeding seems to have stopped or at least not worsened, I'd say it's likely to be old blood (my bleed was brown blood, not fresh red stuff) - you can have a breakthrough bleed at the time you were due to have a period - which is why some women don't know they're pregnant till later on in their pregnancy.

I hope all goes well with your scan tomorrow - try not to worry hun (easier said than done, I know).

Big hugs xxx

I bled at 11 weeks with DD1 (she is now 5). It might just be a bit of spotting. Some people continue to spot all the way throught pregnancy. Try to relax (easier said than done I know). Why not have a bath and try to get some sleep. Hope everything is ok.

Just to let anyone know whose interested the scan went well, saw the little heartbeat. A huge relief. Am not as far along as I thought, only 10 and a half weeks so it would have been when my P was due so maybe that accounts for it.

Thanks everyone! Has put a few things in perspective and made me see that have maybe overdone things recently and need to chill out and relax more. Also have been pushing self to go into work when not felt up to it so am gonna take bit more of a 'sod em' attitude and put mini bump (and me!) first more.

What a great attitude - that's what I tried to do every time I bled (can't say I stuck to it though!). I'm glad the scan went well - a heartbeat is a good sign. I bled at 4, 6, 8, 9 & 12 weeks with ds and at 4, 6, & 8 weeks with this one, and constantly from 14-17 weeks! In between the two I had a miscarriage, and didn't bleed once! So for me it is part of a healthy pg! But do put your feet up. If I was designing bodies to match minds, I would certainly have given me an early warning system to take things easy (slowing down isn't my thing!)

And congratulations!
