Well so far (25 weeks in) the only stretch marks I've got are on my breasts (sob). I'm using Bio Oil and Boots Preg Wonder balm on my stomach and hoping and praying I won't get any there!

I think with celebs a lot of air brushing goes on!

I only have a couple on the underside of my boobs, that's it. None anywhere else and I've had 3 children.

I've got stretch marks on my stomach after pregnancy. I got away with it until about 36 weeks - gutted!!

No not on my belly (although after having ds I had some silvery lines on my thighs which suggested I had stretch marks I couldn't see when I was huge)

I have heard that they tend to be hereditary. It is all in the genes unfortunately.

I don't think that there is actually all that much you can do - either you get them or you don't. The good news is that they do tend to fade with time.

I didn't get any during pregnancy but did get one quite deep one as DS1 came out just below my knicker line.

I am covered in them

stomach, bum, thighs, but then I am prone to them, I have deep ones on my back from growing. I have been seriously asked if I'd been whipped before.

I had none until 36 weeks, then only a few small ones until 38 weeks. After that they spread up my belly like nobody's business.
And everyone tells you that it's OK because they fade. It isn't the colour that's the problem, it's the texture.

I didn't get any.

Sorry rantmum, that wasn't directed at you - we cross-posted. It was actually directed at my Mum who had her children 10 years younger than me.

Report
MrsCarrot · 16/01/2008 17:14

agree, Mrstittlemouse, the crinkley paperyness of them is the problem

tangarine · 16/01/2008 17:17

None with DS1, who arrived at 37 weeks.
None with DS2 until - to my horror - they appeared overnight at 39 weeks.

I didn't get any until 38 weeks but they've faded now - my DS is 10 months

I have no stretchmarks at all but MASSIVE amounts of wrinkly skin

I'd rather have stretchmarks, I look like I could join a circus

I managed to survive 3 pg without any, but am now terrified I'll get ravaged at 39 weeks of my 4th (and FINAL) pg. Has anyone got away with it 3 times and got caught out 4th? Hopeful positive stories pls

had none until the last week with ds1 then got them, on my thighs, got them on my hips and thighs again with ds2 and so far have only got the old ones flaring up with DC3 at 31 weeks. However, i can feel the tell tale itchiness of one or 2 on their way

PuppyDogEyes · 16/01/2008 18:06

Started to get a few small ones early on. Thought that i had a lucky escape. but from week 32 they took over! especially low down, where i can't see properly!

hopefully the bio oil and palmers will help them fade quickly. because they certainly didn't stop 'em!

my mum never got any with 3 kids. so not genetic related them.

Me, I have them really badly

Drivers can use me as a road atlas of Great Britain. It looks like I have a network of tryunk roads about my abdomen
