As the title says when should you get worried? And what color discharge is normal? When should you contact a doctor/midwife?

Increased discharge is very normal in pregnancy as it helps prevent any infections. Healthy vaginal discharge is usually thin, clear or milky white, and should not smell unpleasant -

How many weeks are you? x

Hi @babyboybluex Thank you for your reply. I’m 7 weeks. I’ve had little discharge during my pregnancy, but it’s light yellow and only once in a while. 2 days ago I had a transvaginal scan done and had the yellow discharge Tuesday and yesterday this morning I had small amount of pink discharge on the toilet paper when wiping. Is this normal? I’m very worried as this is my first pregnancy.

I think from transvaginal scans it is very common to experience some light bleeding! Just keep an eye on things and if you see more/bright red/any pain contact your EPU for some advice.

Have you got any pain? I'm not sure about the yellow discharge, however, it could be associated with a UTI - worth speaking to your GP!

@babyboybluex I wouldn’t say it was a bleeding it was small amount of pink discharge but started 2 days after my transvaginal scan. I haven’t got any pain a little bit of cramping but I’ve had that during the whole time.

Green or yellow discharge can be a sign of infection but light yellow discharge is perfectly normal in pregnancy. Around 8 weeks of pregnancy some women (my self included) have a break through bleed or hormonal bleeding when their period would have been, and it is common to have a littlw pink discharge after a transvangial scan or sexual penetration, if you have blood tinged discharge with pain that continues I'd speak to your midwife or epu l, I know some epus are a bit blasé about seeing women with just light spotting but if your worried I'd call them any way. I've had spotting twice in my four pregnancies, one time it was painless spotting, only once at 10 weeks, unfortunsly this was the first sign of my miscarage. And second time in this pregnancy as mentioned above that was accompanied by painful cramps on right side, but baby is fine so far.

Hi @Pesimistic Thank you for your reply.

Hope you don’t mind me asking how much spotting did you have and what color when you miscarried?

Glad to hear baby is fine 😊
