Pregnancy

Bleeding at 7 weeks

Hi,

I'm currently just over 7 weeks pregnant and yesterday all of a sudden I felt unwell, had bad pains in my stomach radiating into my back passage, I went to the toilet and felt like I was going to faint. About 10mins after the pains I felt something trickle out and went to check and there was bright red blood. The bleeding continued but was quite light but very red. I rang epu and was seen because they were concerned about an ectopic because of the back passage pain. I had an internal scan and to my surprise the baby was measuring exactly on point and had a heart beat.

The doctor told me everything looked OK and she didn't know what caused the bleeding but it was still a 50/50 chance of it becoming miscarriage. The bleeding has since tapered off and I just have a mild ache in my stomach but I'm worried sick. Just wondering if any one has had a similar experience and had a positive outcome?

I did; bleeding was slightly earlier (5 1/2 weeks I think) and I had to wait a couple of weeks for a scan. It felt like forever.

But there was a heartbeat and DS is now 9 years old and nearly as big as me!

I hope it works out for you.

Oh gosh waiting a couple of weeks for a scan must have been torture! Thank you for your message, so glad it all worked out well for you 🙂

How are you feeling now?

You most likely had a hematoma. If there is a heartbeat then you are likely to be fine.

Hi, thanks for checking in, I'm feeling OK now, just mild cramps here and there but the bleeding has stopped thank god.

Yeh I had thought maybe it was a haematoma but then I thought the doctor would have picked that up on the scan and said that but she didn't.

I have another scan next week so will just have to rest and try and stay positive. Thanks for your messages xx

Congrats op!
I had bleeding also very early on. I'm pleased everything looked ok on your scan.
I think once you have a scare you notice every twinge and pull!
There's a lot going on in your body right now even though baby is teeny tiny your body is already growing.
It's great news your bleeding has stopped.

Oh I know you're so right, I think because of the scare I'm on high alert so any slight twinge is making me nervous, whereas before I probably wouldn't have noticed it. Just hoping the fact that the bleeding has stopped and heart beat was on screen that all will be OK but it's still an anxious wait. I'm on progesterone too because of a short luteal phase and previous chemical pregnancies so I'm hoping that will help support the pregnancy in some way.
Thanks for you message, I really appreciate you all taking the time to reply.
