Tips and tricks for nausea please 🤢

I'm 6 weeks today and my god has it hit me. Started Friday morning and has gradually gotten worse, yesterday I couldn't even move and when I had to I literally had to crawl like a lunatic. I had it in my first pregnancy but didn't stop me from doing day to day activites. Any remedies that worked for you?
I'm currently waiting for a call back from the doctors for anti sickness.

Mine wasn’t as bad as what yours is but mints helped me, I used to have to suck on them all the way to work to stop me throwing up.

I went through hell earlier this year and meds never helped me. What did help was eating little and often. I was often up at 4am eating pasta but I knew that if I didn't then soon enough the vomiting would start. I never left myself get hungry

I'm 8 weeks and had HG in my first. Nausea has hit me in the last week too.
My saviour is flat lemonade and mint imperials. Oh and salty chips (thanks McDonald's).
A lot of people swear by the sickness bands but they just haven't been working for me. I hope you feel better soon.

Eat something before you get out of bed in the morning- I used to keep a pack of ginger biscuits or plain rice cakes on my bedside table. I also found ice lollies easier to stomach than drinks when it was really bad x

Sorry to hear you’re feeling rubbish Sad to be honest there’s no magic solution, but eating small amounts often (plain foods like crackers or breadsticks), keeping hydrated and sleeping/resting as much as possible are the main things. Don’t be worried about your diet being all carbs, and try things like mints, gum, sour sweets, cold water with ice, ice lollies/sorbet.

It feels like it’ll go on forever but I promise it gets better!

I know it's a cliche but ginger biscuits really helped me

I had to have something very plain like rice cakes or oatcakes ready on my bedside table to eat before I even attempted to lift my head. Couple of those, wait 10-15 minutes then get up.

Ginger biscuits! I am 7+1 and my nausea hit me for the first time last Thursday. I bought some ginger biscuits and every time I start to feel nauseous I have one.. it has helped a lot!

I had awful HG from about 5-6 weeks. Now 15weeks and its improved.
I tried the sickness bands which helped a bit.
Ice poles when I couldnt drink.
Pasta for some reason I found I could eat.
Crackers or crisp breads.
But the best thing, 12 weeks in, was medication from the GP. It has helped and has made me feel more human.
I still struggle on some days, especially with dinner, but Im not vomiting constantly.

Medication was the only thing that helped me.

HTe only thing that had a chance of staying down was dry rice crispies. I was signed off work for over 3 months with my first. Only left the house to go to the GP to get a new certificate every 2 weeks!

Second time round, the drugs were a life saver - especially with a toddler to look after too.

For me it was orange juice with water, crisps, potato and beans, pasta and beans, having a lunchtime nap, fizzy drinks and cold fruit blended in my nutri ninja.
It didn't 'go away' with those but made it a lot more bearable and meant I was eating too. It's a horrible time, I do feel for you x

Thank you ladies for all your helpful advice ❤
The only thing I have tried so far is ginger biscuits as that's is what helped me last time but unfortunately this time not making even the slightest difference. Will try everything else though! Hopefully the doctors get back to be soon x

I used to keep food on my bedside table (banana, packet of plain biscuits, salt&vinegar crisps sometimes) and take a bite or two every time I woke up at night. Seemed like keeping a constant supply of tiny bites to my stomach is only thing that helped me. Sickness meds (stemitil I think was what I was prescribed) didn't touch it.
But it was still hell so you have my sympathy.

Mints, plain crackers, really sour Granny Smith apples used to make my mouth feel much more pleasant and relieve some nausea as well.

Oh god, it’s the worst. Any combination of -

Mint chewing gum / Polos
Pasta/carbs
Dry crackers
Diet coke (there’s a caffeine free one)
Sickness bands
Eating as soon as you wake up. Literally eyes open, shove digestive in.
Eating little and often
Ice water
Ice lollies (esp lemon ones)
Citrus/lemony things if you get a metallic taste in your mouth

I’m in the second tri with twins and the first trimester was Horrendous for nausea. I went on cyclizine in the end and am still taking it some days. You really have my sympathies. And I had none of this with DD Confused.

Cyclizine helped me, I was on it throughout the whole pregnancy and it was a lifesaver!
Hopefully it works just as well for you!

I found putting lots of Ice in all of my drinks helped a little bit. That and mints and eating first thing in the morning.

If it makes you feel any better my sickness completely stopped like textbook at 12 weeks so keep pushing through! X

For me: ginger biscuits, tonic water (something about the burping made my sickness marginally better!), toast and wotsits. Not healthy but it got me through!

No particular foods/ drinks have helped me, but some have made the awful mouth taste worse (milk, tea, coffee, bland foods are the worst). I've had to change my eating pattern completely, and my husband has done the same, bless his heart. I don't eat meals at all any more because I get so full so quickly. Instead I eat about once an hour throughout the day. Thank goodness I am quite enjoying fruit, because all other nutritious foods make me gag.

I can’t quite remember sorry, it wasn’t instant though. But definitely the drowsiness side effect went away after a few days.
