Hi ladies. I couldn't find a new thread for us after ours maxed out already, so I have started another up. How is everyone doing?

How’s everyone doing? I’m still very tired and feel queasy especially when I need to eat! Does anyone have a link to the Facebook group that they could send me?

Ah so glad there’s another thread - I’m not sure if I’m quite ready to join the Facebook group yet!

I’ve been feeling even more exhausted for the past week or so. I’m struggling to get any work done in the day and have needed a nap most lunchtimes! Luckily I work from home so I can get away with it for now. I’ve got a busy weekend coming up though, seeing friends and family, so will need to try and hide the tiredness and also come up with the excuses not to drink.

Getting a bit impatient at this stage and just want to get to 16th June for my dating scan!

I'm really sick - GP is prescribing something to help me as it's really debilitating.

Today I've had a bit of slightly pinkish/bloody cm... It was a few hours after sex so I'm hoping and hoping it's just that and not the start of more bleeding to come :(

Had anyone else had that?

Super tired! Had quite a few bad digestive issues over the past week, but fingers crossed I haven't had any issues yet today! (5+3). Just exhausted really!

Oo thanks for doing a new thread- I was going to but I wasn’t sure if there was one and I couldn’t find it!

Sorry you’re feeling sick @L1ttleb1t, hopefully it passes soon. I’m 10+4 now and mines really reduced.

I’ve just found out I’m likely to be put ‘at risk of redundancy’ in July, which for me basically means I’ll be made redundant after the process as I don’t quite fit into my industry so I’m doubtful there will any other roles to move into. Not strictly pregnancy, but because I’ll be due just after the process ends, and because the way the dates work, I can’t look for a new job now because it’s unlikely I’ll start in time for mat pay. So it’s a wait it out game and hope I can find something after he baby is here (should be fun with a newborn and 2 year old Grin). Sorry for the brain dump! Any advice welcome

I'm no HR expert but my husband has some experience and if you tell your employer you are pregnant now, it'll make them actually making you redundant much harder as there are so many laws protecting women who are pregnant. The job being on the at risk register doesn't overrule that.

So if it was me if be telling them now, even if it's unconventionally early.

@L1ttleb1t that’s really interesting- I was worried about telling them in case I do see a job to try and move into (it’s an enormous company) and it makes it harder but it is unlikely and either way they shouldn’t discriminate on the basis on pregnancy. They’re cutting my whole team so I think that will still happen but maybe I can negotiate something. Technically I’m not supposed to know I’m going to be out at risk. Thank you for the advice! Food for thought.

Hi all
I'm due late January and struggling a bit with tiredness this week, really conscious about it at work, especially as my appraisal is coming up in a few weeks so lots of eyes on my performance at the moment and I spend my every spare moment daydreaming about an early bedtime!
I work shifts so I've always relied on caffeine too so cutting down has been a challenge.

@L1ttleb1t sorry you’re experiencing bad morning sickness too, know how awful and debilitating it can be! Has what the doctor prescribed helped?

Aquarius93 · 03/06/2021 11:20

@MrsFLongbottom sorry to hear you’ve got potential redundancy to worry about! I would agree it’s best to tell them about your pregnancy now. Redundancy should always be a last resort so they should consider any alternative positions that you would be suited for or want to apply for. They can’t discriminate against you for being pregnant.

It’s also worth saying you qualify for statutory maternity pay at the 15th week before your expected week of child birth so after that point, even if they were to make you redundant they would be required to pay your SMP, either through payroll or as a lump sum.

Must be such a nerve wracking situation and hope it works out okay for you!

Thank you. I don't get my hands on it until tomorrow but will let you know! It's Prochlorperazine - an antihistamine. I didn't seek help for terrible morning sickness with my first child and have promised myself to do it differently this time.

I've also bought an emeterm tens bracelet that uses neuromodulation of the nerve that carries sickness signals from the brain. It's actually helpful - not at all a cure but for me it does help.

Morning guys.

I've had a light bleed so have called my GP who's going to do a telephone consultation this afternoon. Anyone know what I should expect them to do? Early scan or just watch and wait?

@L1ttleb1t oh no, hope everything is ok. How many weeks are you now? In my experience GPs can go either way with scans....with my miscarriages I didn’t get one but I was gushing blood so knew it was all over so there wasn’t really any point. I had a small bleed with my daughter but as it stopped as fast as it started then I didn’t get a scan xx

L1ttleb1t · 04/06/2021 10:13

@BunBunMum I'm 6 weeks 4 days ... I'm hoping it's just something like my cervix being irritated as it was after a long bike ride and I had another small bleed on Wednesday after sex. But I'm 39 so feel like miscarriage is a realistic possibility 🙁

Hi guys how are we all today? I'm absolutely rubbish at keeping up with these threads 😂 I'm 9 weeks tomorrow it's going so fast! I'm having tummy aches and stomach pains at the moment - anyone else? Nausea comes and goes, have only been able to really stomach cheese and ham toasties and crisp apples the last few weeks! Nothing else is appealing! Have also gained a fair bit of weight already which I'm panicking about as eating keeps the nausea at bay. But bread is the only thing that doesn't make me feel worse! Hoping I won't gain too much in the 2nd tri... 😫

Hope everyone is doing well!
Has anyone had their hand held maternity notes yet? I spoke to the midwife on the phone for around 40 minutes but can't remember if she said I would get them sent to me or given to me at the screening appointment?

Has anyone had a date for 12 week scan / screening tests?

Report
BunBunMum · 04/06/2021 11:13

@osmo18 Around here then we get our notes at our booking appointment with the midwife at 10 weeks. Our GP books the scan date so mine has come through already for end of June when I’ll be 12+4

Aquarius93 · 04/06/2021 11:24

@L1ttleb1t I had some light bleeding and cramps around 6 weeks too and rang my GP. Luckily by the time I had my telephone consultation the bleeding had stopped. I know some people have had scans at 6 weeks through EPU but my GP said they don’t usually do a scan until after 8 weeks as you can’t see much so early on. Hope all goes okay for you.

@zeromango I’m the same as you - I find that eating regularly keeps the nausea at bay but I’ve gained so much weight already. I’m hoping once the nausea goes and I get some energy back things will balance out.

@osmo18 I had a telephone appointment at 9 weeks to go through all the usual questions and then I had to go in another day for the blood tests etc which is when I got my notes. They booked the scan for me after that appointment too so I’ve had mine booked for 12+1.

Hello. Dropped in previously to the previous thread and I think I joined the facebook group, though I removed myself as I felt it was a bit early and I'm very anxious of things going wrong.

I am defo 6 weeks but not sure on days as different apps all say different things. My cycle varied each month between 29-34 days so if I go by my LMP, I am 6w6d.

Only symptoms I've had are sore boobs (which I keep prodding throughout the day to make sure they are still sore) and I did have a couple of big spots which are clearing up. Had major nausea on Tuesday but nothing since. My clear blue digital is now showing 3+ weeks but I just can't help worry that I'm not throwing up or have any other major symptoms.

I have an early scan on Wednesday evening and just pray we will be told all is ok and progressing as it should.

@L1ttleb1t hopefully it is just a one off and likely all fine, I hope the GP is helpful. I had a reasonably big bleed at about 8 weeks with my first and was all ok. Also had some spotting this week. My midwife said at booking in that if you bleed after sex to mention it to your GP.

@Aquarius93 thanks, my magic week is 5th sept and I won’t be told officially till end of July, and I think the process takes about 6 months after that so it should be fine but I feel nervous about telling them in case they try to rush it through. I’m going to call ACAS for some advice.

Sorry so many are struggling with nausea! Mine has just eased off at 10 weeks, fingers crossed for you guys xx

Hi eveyone.

@ReginaaPhalange How are your symptoms today - are they still hiding?

I had a scan at EPU today after my bleeds last week - very nervous but all looks good; baby measures exactly to dates and has a little heartbeat. They couldn't explain the bleeding so I'm going to put it down to irritating my cervix by having sex, which is now banned!
