@PurplePansy05 how do you not have that much washing for two loads a week ?!😱

@Daffodil21 thanks for the new thread! 🥰

Report
PurplePansy05 · 28/04/2021 14:13

@lucyrp I have a 10kg washing machine and do a round of whites and a round of colours/darks per week usually. We change clothes daily too, no problem at all 🤷🏼‍♀️😁 I will do another round at higher temp with bedsheets and tea towels, but that's it! xx

Thank you for the new thread @Daffodil21!

Thanks for the link and overview of what you have @PurplePansy05! I’m the same, I really would rather avoid a constant washing machine 😂. I think as we’re having summer babies, I’m finding it difficult to know what’s best x

And thank you @Daffodil21, great that you've updated it too 😘 Over half way, woooo! 🥳🥳🥳 xx

@PurplePansy05 mines either 8/9kg and I have to do a load for work clothes, a load for DS, a white load, a light colours load, a dark colours load and then bedding and towels 🙈 x

@Carefree1 I possibly have too much, but like you, I found it difficult to predict the weather from mid-Aug onwards. We usually have lovely and warm April in South Wales, this year it's been cool and windy and it's actually horrible this week, rainy and cold. So not sure whether it's a sign of things to come, maybe a cooler summer too? No one knows. I think with the mix I've got I can keep him in just a vest and a babygrow on warm days or layer up with a cardigan and a blanket on cool days.

I also bought the Morrck blankets on sale, thank you for your recommendation some time ago @alittlexmasmagic! They were expensive but I could not find anything better for car seats or for other use all year round. By the time you buy several different blankets depending on the sizes and thickness, it would cost the same or more anyway, whereas Morrck in fairness does it all (and looks and washes well)!

To complete my endless list of purchases, I bought him one 0.5 tog sleeping bag (in case it's really hot), one 1.5 tog in 0-6 (which I expect to use most) and one 0-6 in 2.5 tog (for colder winter nights), all from M&S and John Lewis. xx

@Daffodil21 thanks for the new thread - I can't see it in the birth clubs board though....am I being stupid or is it somewhere else?!

Report
PurplePansy05 · 28/04/2021 14:28

@lucyrp I suspect my life has got easier since wfh - less to wash! Plus I don't do the gym now. And don't forget I don't have a toddler/young child at home, impact on my washing is not to be underestimated 😂 Thinking about it, we also do another load with dog's towels etc. actually, but not necessarily every week, depends on the weather. But basically if I can stick to this or add one more load max, that's what I'm aiming for, I hate washing and tumble drying xx

Daffodil21 · 28/04/2021 14:29

@wimbler I put it in 'pregnancy' then realised afterwards that the previous one was in 'birth clubs' - sorry!

@PurplePansy05 I do also just Chuck on the washing machine with a small load if it's the last few things in the washing basket rather than wait for more for the same load as I could be waiting weeks for something of the same sort. I don't mind the washing as such it's the hanging it out to dry. Especially now I don't have a spare room as that's the baby's room xx

PurplePansy05 · 28/04/2021 14:37

@lucyrp Hanging it is definitely DH's job here 😂 But sadly it will probably become my job on mat leave...We don't hang that much though, more in the summer and not much for the rest of the year. I honestly couldn't do it without a tumble dryer, we didn't have one for years and I somehow managed, but once we got one that was it. xx

@lucyrp @PurplePansy05 🤣 I was thinking the same I have 2 washing machines (one is 11kg!) and 2 tumble dryers and do 3/4 washes most days! I do have 3dc already though and my eldest and my DH both need clothes washed everyday for work. The only thing I’m thinking is I’ll have to do a dedicated baby wash in non bio as I have to use bio on all the boys stuff as they get it so dirty!

PurplePansy05 · 28/04/2021 15:14

@LaceyMermaid 😱 I do not know how you find time for this! That's been an eye opener! I guess I now understand why I still have time to do a fair bit of ironing 😂 xx

Hello all - some sad news on our side. After a number of complications over the past few weeks which have grown in severity, we had to deliver the triplets yesterday. We lost the twins, Emily and Ivy. We now have a daughter Holly born at 23+2 who is in SCBU. She almost died overnight but stabilised today. Will be a rough few more weeks. Anyway, I’m going to disconnect t from this group and the Facebook group now. Thanks for all the support over the past few months, it’s been entertaining!

Oh my God, @Champson Flowers

I'm so sorry for your losses of the beautiful Emily and Ivy. Sending you a huge, huge hug. I've been thinking about you lots recently actually, wondering how you were. Please let me know if there's anything I can do, as I'm sure many others on here, I have gone through a lot of bereavement support before, from charities, therapists etc. Anything you need, or just to talk, just let me know.

I'm keeping EVERYTHING crossed for Holly, honestly everything. Sending you all so much love, you're in my thoughts and prayers every day ❤❤❤❤❤ xxxxx
