Cramps everyday in early pregnancy

Hi All
I’ve recently found about I’m pregnant with my second. If my dates are correct I’m 4.5 weeks pregnant, due roughly 29th or 30th December.
Everyday since I found out last week I’ve been getting cramps, not severe just mild but seems like I feel them more when I sit or lie down. Today I’ve woke up and my Lower back hurts too - are these normal early pregnancy symptoms/has anyone had this and everything been ok? I never had this with my first and just a bit worried about it all. X

Obviously we can’t say for sure if everything is okay but cramps are 100% normal in early pregnancy. I’ve had them with all 3. On more than one occasion they were so painful I was convinced I was miscarrying! Sometimes they felt like period pains, sometimes quite sharp pains. I’ve had losses so it is such an added stress and I know how anxious it can make you but it is totally normal.

@TTCMumma94x I am having exactly the same symptoms as you. Finding it's worse at night when I relax and got slight pain in my left leg like it's really tired of that makes sense?! I'm due 26/27 Dec. This is my first so I'm worrying about every little niggle xx

I've had a previous ectopic and was convinced this pregnancy was going wrong as I had so many cramps and lower back pains, but I'm now 21 weeks and everything looks ok so far!

Hi op. Congratulations. I recently found out I'm pregnant to.. as you say your only 4.5 weeks they do say that some women get period like pains. As your uterus is stretching you will feel some discomfort on lower abdomen and back. I've been experiencing the same. Don't worry hun you will be blessed.

Yes I had this with both pregnancies. It was how I knew I was pregnant the second time. My midwife said it was the uterus stretching.

Hi, can I ask how you did this as I've explained to EPU about my previous losses x2 and I still have to wait although I'm roughly 9 weeks pregnant

I could have written this myself! I'm exactly the same, 4w+5 and have terrible cramp. It feels like a bad period where the pain goes down your thighs too, along with back pain, huge sore boobs and some nausea. Lovely 🤣 hope it eases soon, and for you too OP! Congratulations 🥳

@jade0881 they booked me in due to previous complications with my miscarriage as well as to re assure me I'm sorry you have to wait so long I don't know if it depends on your epu I think they all have different rules

Congratulations to you all!! And thank you so much for the reassurance! Makes me feel better knowing I’m not the only one.
I feel like I’m worrying about every little thing! I have no other symptoms bar heavy/slightly sore boobs but I woke up today and the they weren’t sore so I freaked out but the GP said it’s normal for the symptoms to come and go and to stop stressing. Easier said than done I think 😐 x

@Nat171 my due date is the same as yours and I have also had a previous MC. I'm also having period-like cramps. Not many but maybe once or twice a day. I got these with my last pregnancy which ended being a MC and I think my brain has associated these cramps to be a bad sign. It's so reassuring to hear that so many of you have them too and they're normal.

@bages1977 it’s awful isn’t it the constant thought .. can’t get it out my brain. I have a 6 year old and I do not remember this stage of the pregnancy but having had 2 miscarriages and the bleeding started straight away and I have had pains for passed two days now and no bleeding so fingers crossed. Have everything crossed for you too xx

@Pompom2367 how many weeks are you?

Report
bages1977 · 28/04/2021 09:18

@Nat171 @Pompom2367 yeah I feel the same as both of you. I really want to few happy about it but I feel like I can't until I know everything is fine. I've made mental milestones to get to which I think will help me break down the pregnancy rather than just thinking of all the weeks left I have to get through. I lost my last one at 6 weeks so that's the first milestone for me

Report
Nat171 · 28/04/2021 10:30

@bages1977 that’s a really good way to think about it .. I lost one at 6+2 and then 1 at 5 weeks so 6 week mark will be my first milestone to hit. Thanks for that idea 💡 xx

I had cramps with both my pregnancies, on a daily basis, up until around 16 weeks I think, then they stopped completely (which is weird as your uterus gets a lot more stretched towards the end as the baby grows much faster). I think it's very common.

Report
bages1977 · 28/04/2021 11:02

@Nat171 yeah it's seems easier to deal with the stress of it all this way. I think the one after that will be 8 weeks and I'm thinking if all goes well when I reach 6, I might book an early scan for week 8 for a bit of reassurance. Not thinking any further ahead than that atm though.

@notalwaysalondoner thank you for the reassurance! It honestly makes me feel so much more relaxed knowing others have been through these symptoms ☺️

Sorry me again. This might be tmi but I think I've realised that my cramps are worse when I need to go to the toilet (both instances 🙈) I have realised that the cramps tend to ease once I've been. Dunno if anyone else has thought this, maybe it's all in my head 😂

Hi everyone. Firstly congrats to everyone who is pregnant I do hope all goes well.
Secondly, I've been experiencing the cramps and slight pain in lower abdomen. This is my 5th pregnancy although out of the 5 pregnancies I MC'd 2. I 2 beautiful daughters 12 and 6 and also pregnant. However I don't remember feeling these cramps before in any of my pregnancies.
As I've seen on here a lot of you ladies are experiencing the same too. I have reassurance scan on 11/5 which seems so far away. Confused thanks for listening
