Hi All

I’m 7+3 and really struggling to drink at the moment. The only thing I can manage is Diet Coke but I don’t really like to have more than one per day. I’m finding everything too sweet and just generally really unpleasant - even tepid water, cold water, sparkling water, ice water etc

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? I don’t like ginger otherwise I’d try some ginger cordial

Any ideas would be appreciated Smile

I lived on cold lemon squash for the first few months, it gave me heartburn from about 20 weeks so haven't touched it since but it was really refreshing and sharpSmile xx

What about fanta? Pre-pregnancy I drank tea, energy drinks and mostly cordial. I've cut out energy drinks and I cant stand the thought of tea, and I'm bored of cordial, so I've been drinking all the fanta 😂 (bad I know but I dont care while I'm sick)

In my first pregnancy I had HG and lived off Lucozade sport x

I second lemon squash, and I can only have drinks cold at the moment. I bought some pregnancy sweets that are supposed to help with morning sickness and a review said there is a link to sour tasting things with saliva production which helps. Lemon isn’t necessarily sour but for some reason it’s easier to stomach!

The only things I can stand at the moment is sparkling water with half a lemon squeezed in or cold milk. Pre pregnancy I loved tea but can't stand any hot drinks at the moment 😒

I am loving lemon cordial too - with iced water or sparkling water!

Try a variety of squash until you find one you like or get one of those fruit infuser water bottles and try that out.
Sometimes I really don't like water but simply drink a small glass fast several times a day. I rarely drank pop or squash pre-pregnancy but I quite like it atm.

Lemon is good including weak squash or lemon iced lollies to keep you hydrated. Also some sparkling waters like Badoit, Perrier, San Pellegrino have a slightly different taste and might be worth a try.

I found using a straw or a sports type bottle to sip water little and often really helped rather than trying to gulp it down. Can totally identify with only wanting diet coke though. Have you tried the caffeine free version? Prob still not super healthy due to the sweeteners but at least you don't have to worry about overdoing the caffeine.

I'm also a diet coke addict, recently discovered Square Root- they make fruit based, natural, pretty low calorie drinks from lemonade to non alcoholic cocktails- the Mojito and G&T is amazing and such a treat to have over ice sat on sofa at end of the day!

Fanta or any fizzy orange drink was the only think I could get real satisfaction from!

I’m really struggling to drink too! Only things I can bear are:
San Pellegrino lemon
Pure Apple juice
Weak horlicks
Very cold water

I had the same problem and found lemon water rosewater or home made dill water (you stew in water overnight) really really helpful. I was also drinking a lot of sour tasting squash

I found I can't stop drinking lime cordial with sparkling water 😋 very refreshing and I don't feel as bad as I would drinking fizzy pop

Maybe try to put a slice of lemon or lime in your water to change the flavor? Having a splash of lemon or lime in my water also helped ease my indigestion too.
