(36 Posts)Hi I’ve just taken a pregnancy test and it shows a very faint positive sign but I’m not sure if that actually means I’m pregnant
Test again in the morning, morning urine is best for hcg will give a more accurate reading.
Don't usually get false positives though
What brand are you using? Im 4 days past my expected period date and get very strong lines with FRER and Clearblue but the lines are still faint on the cheapies. A positive is virtually always a real positive but check again tomorrow and see if the line gets darker
I used a clear blue pregnancy test
Would it be faint even after I’m only a couple days late
Do you have a pic?
Yeah I have a pic but don’t know how to post it on here
You can't post pics if you are new to the site. A little paperclip will show undercthe comments box once you can post them.
A faint line is a positive if it shows within the 1st few minutes. Give it 2-3 days and test again in the morning to confirm, hormones should be much higher by then if you are pregnant.
Yeah I’m new to the site but thank you all, just didn’t know what to think but will take another one in a few days
Are you new to Mumsnet? I think there is a 48 hour wait before you can post pics, but could be wrong.
It depends on the sensitivity of the test. Some are more sensitive than others. Can you take another to see if it's the same? Is it so faint you have to really try see it? It's normal for lines to be fainter than the control line and I think we all come on here during early pregnancy asking the same Q about faint lines. Also you could implant late which means fainter line than you expect.
How are you feeling about it all?
I’m feeling fine and just trying to figure out if I’m pregnant or not before I tell my partner
A faint line is a positive, it says that ok the box. Congratulations.
Thank you all for your help
Just another question even though the pregnancy test was a faint positive, I’ve just started bleeding does that mean I’m not pregnant
If you are having light pink/brown spotting it could be implantation. If this is the case retest in a few days.
If you are having red bleeding it could be a chemical pregnancy. If this is the case a test will most likely come up negative after a few days.
Chemical pregnancy just means very early miscarriage. Faint could mean an egg has only just implanted and HCG levels need to increase and with that there is a chance of very slight implantation bleeding. This should be a few drops of light pink of brown blood. Faint could also mean implantation started but for one reason or another doesn't progress and hormone levels start to drop and your period will start.
So does that mean if I test negative in a few days I’ve had a chemical pregnancy
Have you took another test? if it's negative now after a faint positive and you're using comparable tests then it's likely to be a chemical, yeah x
I’m gonna take another test tomorrow but is it normal to have 2 clumps of blood come out
I get a lot more and larger clots after a chemical than during a normal af.
Well I only saw 2 clumps didn’t really check for anymore, but is there still a possibility I could be pregnant
Slim chance. Some women do have bad bleeds and healthy pregnancies but most it's the end of the line. Only time will tell, the waiting game is awful.
Will be taking another in couple days
That's a pretty strong positive to me. Have you had any further bleeding?
