So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Hi @cooper96 , congratulations!! They are exactly the same as my dates :) start date of last period 11th January, due on period today, took a test and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant! Couldn't quite believe it! Due 18th of October as well :) ofcourse, I am feeling very similar to you and trying not to get ahead of myself as anything can happen. So we are going to test again in a few days and hopefully allow ourselves to be a little excited at some point soon :)

@cupcakelady06 congratulations to you both too!! What a coincidence the exact same dates! I bought a pack of cheap dip stick test they were like £2.99 off eBay for 50 so I couldn't believe it when I got a positive. I went to Asda and got a first response digital and got a pregnant result 3 days before (Sunday) AF is due (Wednesday). I think I'm going to hold out until 6 weeks and then contact GP? Its all so much to take in! Xx

@cooper96 so much to take in! I'm trying to plan as I don't want to plan for something and have it taken away, natural worrier! It will be our first baby so haven't had to do this before, not sure when the right time is to tell the doctors, Ill have to ask Google! Lol I'm thinking of getting an early scan around 8 weeks to give me a bit of piece of mind. Xx

@cupcakelady06 it's our first too and our first month TTC! It all seems too good to be true but keeping everything crossed 🤞I think you can get a midwife appointment around 8 weeks so I'm going to ring at around 6 weeks to arrange. I've also been looking at private dating scans too at 8 weeks, I think it's around £60 but definitely worth it. My minds just doing over drive I want to stand on my roof stop and tell the world 🤣xx

@cooper96 ahh amazing! It was our first time TTC too! What a coincidence we are very similar!
I might give doctors a call next week and see what they say! I'm also waiting on the results of a smear test, so that should be back by then -fingers crossed that's all ok!
Haha I am the same, just want to tell people! Especially when I'm on a zoom quiz and people are like top your drink up, so I'm just going and pouring a lemonade with ice lol xx

Hi 😊 just found this thread and I’m also due 18/10 from what I’ve worked out! Congratulations both of you x

@Ellyr08 congratulations!! Another 18th of October :)
I have done two tests now, one digital and one with the line. Both positive! Going to do another one at the weekend I think just to triple check!
Have you got any symptoms? I have been feeling sick all day! Not sure if it's too early for that though so maybe it's just in my head xx

My app reckons I'm due 14/10. Got my positive test on Monday which was 4 days after I was due on. So just a few days ahead of you guys. First timer also. Feeling a bit anxious and shocked to be honest. All happened a lot quicker than I expected. Also desperate to tell people but keeping a lid on it for now if I can.

@onceuponathread congratulations!! It is so daunting isn't it! It was our first TTC so really wasn't expecting it to happen so quickly! Would love to tell everyone too, but going to have an early scan and then maybe tell parents. Then wait until the 12 weeks. That's the plan anyway, but tbh anything can happen so I'm learning to go with the flow! Have you had any symptoms? Xx

@CupcakeLady06 mines abit of a different situation - unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks around Christmas time (our first TTC) so we’re pretty shocked we’ve caught on again so quickly! Feeling super anxious at the moment, kind of just want the next few weeks to be over super quick! Last time I had no idea I was pregnant but this time I do feel different but I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m more aware Confused

Hi all, tentatively placemarking. According to my dates, I'm also due 18th October. I have a 5 & 6 year old and I lost a little boy at 17 weeks in November so am a mixed bag of emotions at the moment.

Minimal symptoms so far. Sore boobs and totally exhausted all the time. Bit queasy sometimes but that could be in my head.

I'm not really sure what to do next. Had to register with the docs, but that will take several days they say - so in limbo at the moment. Considering another test just to reassure myself it's all still happening but is that just silly?

I've done a test every 2 days for the past week because I just can't believe it. I'm hoping my anxiety will settle over the next week or two!

Hello ladies, may I join as well?
My last period started on 12.01 and according to my dr. i am 5 weeks pregnant. My app says I am due 19th of October Grin

I've already been to the dr this morning cause here in Germany is a bit different. He took blood sample to check the betaHcG level and said we'll probably only see something in 10 days. (He did do a checkup and a tiny 1mm point was there).

I am very anxious and I feel that this wait is worse that the 2ww.

What symptoms do you have?

Congratulations!!

I found out at 3+4 and contacted my gp the day after! I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow :)

@OnceUponAThread aww nothing is silly that will give you some joy and reassurance. I think I will test every other day until I run out of tests lol hopefully you get registered soon :) I think maybe my nausea was in my head, as today I've been preoccupied with taking my dog to vets and didn't even think about it. Xx

Congratulations everyone!! I really don't know whether to contact my GP or not as of yet I'm so worried about getting ahead of myself!! I've also been looking at private scans for 8 weeks but they all recommend an internal which I don't know how I fee! I know I'm going to have to get over the thought of that anyway! 🙈🙈 If all is well we would tell family at 8 weeks xx

@cooper96 I am also thinking to wait until 8 weeks. It is hard though!
I told only to my sister cause she already has a baby and I need some advice.
Good luck to all of you!

I think there's no harm in letting GP know as soon as you get a positive. In fact, NHS website says to get in contact ASAP (see screengrab).

I wish my local surgery would get a move on so I can book in for an appointment / sort next step. I'm hating this sort of limbo phase.

Don't know how I'm going to manage without telling people until a scan though.

😱😱😱

Hello all
Hoping to join this chat as i am also due in October (15th). I got a positive 3 days before my period was due, tested because i had symptoms and had a feeling. This is out first pregnancy, i came of contraception in Sept 20 so was inly trying for 4 months. I can't help but worry as its very early days, we have an early scan booked for 9th March. I contact my GP and they provided me with a number to register the pregnancy with the antenatal department but im going to wait another week or so before calling.

Also due on the 18th October. First pregnancy and first TTC. Called my Dr the day after I found out and due to COVID they are not taking appointments but directed me to local maternity centre to arrange midwife appointment in a few weeks time Confused
It’s also overwhelming isn’t it!
Congratulations by the way Smile

Indulged myself with a second test. Got one of the those ones that dates as well, so has confirmed pregnancy and also indicated that I am (at least) as pregnant as I think I am. So that's all good.

Really struggling with no one (other than OH) knowing. Am considering telling one friend not least because if something does go wrong then I will presumably want some support anyway. Not sure tho.

Feels like suuuuuuch a long time until 12 week scan.

For those of you booking early, private ones, what are the benefits of those / how did you choose a scanner / how many weeks in do they scan?

@OnceUponAThread I have told my closest friend as I feel I need another female to talk to, especially feeling so anxious. Totally up to you but I don't think it hurts to tell someone that you trust is not going to tell the whole world.

Hi all, can I join? Got my BFP at 3+4 and I'm now 4+2. Think I am due 20th October. This will be DC 2. It took us 2 years to fall pregnant with my 1st so was a bit shocked that it seems to have happened on out first month trying this time around!
