Hi FTM here

Feeling a little overwhelmed and confused with all the different mattresses available out there.
Does anyone recommend any specific type that won't break the bank? The prices all vary massively and just don't know where to start looking!!

Thanks in advance 😊

It's been a long time since I bought one of these but I did find that one with a zip cover was good so I could take it off and wash it when my children wet through nappies or were sick in bed
Enjoy your mummy journey 😁

I'm pretty sure there is a Mumsnet best cot/cotbet article in the reviews section. Saw it when trying to find my teen a new mattress

We went for Mamas and Papas and waited for their sales (they do them often) and ordered one of their £200 one which was reduced down to £100. It’s a double sided one so once your baby is older you flip it over to a firmer side. I know £100 is expensive but I’ve seen/felt cheaper cheaper mattresses and they just don’t compare. I suppose I wouldn’t want to sleep on a cheap mattress so I applied that logic to my baby’s bed as well.

I got a mamas and papas one in the sale. I felt a sprung mattress was better. It cost me about £90.

I used Baby Mattresses Online. They have every conceivable size, well priced and good service. I don't work for them - honest - but bought a cot bed mattress from them, a bassinet mattress and a single bed mattress too.

Best mattress we've had for cotbeds is an IKEA one
