Measuring 9 days behind on ultrasound

Hello! I just had an transvaginal ultrasound today. I am supposed to be 5 weeks 6 days. The ultrasound said it saw a yolk sac and a gestational sac, but no heartbeat or fetal pole, and was measuring me at 4 weeks 4 days (plus or minus 5 days). I know exactly when I ovulated so this is making me very worried! I haven’t had my Hcg checked lately. Anyone have a similar experience where they were fairly sure of ovulation?

Sure because of ovulation tests of IVF or how are you sure?

I was 90% sure of dates and unfortunately led to a missed miscarriage for me but I've heard opposite stories too. It's so hard to tell in the early days.

What was the size of the gestational sac?

My dates were moved by 9 days at my 12 week scan. I have quite long cycles. DD was born a week early according to the new date.

When I went for my 12 week scan for my lb they actually dated me 9+4. He was born 2 weeks early according to my due date.

It's hard to be positive when dates are off but you must remember that babies develop at different rates and scans go off averages. All you can do is keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best at this stage. Maybe book a repeat scan to see how the pregnancy is developing after a week or two.
I measured 7 weeks 4 days with a heartbeat on a scan in July which was 6 days behind my dates. Sadly that pregnancy did end in miscarriage a week later. I measured that far behind with my twins at a similar gestation but they caught up by their dating scan and carried them to 38 weeks before they were evicted. So it can go either way.

Good luck for a sticky bean.

I'm sure because I know the date of my ovulation according to ovulation tests....

The gestational sac size is 6.8mm, they dated me at 4 weeks 4 days when I should be 5 weeks 6 days. When I did some research it says this is the size that a 5 week 2 day sac would be? I go to one of the best OBGYNs in the area for high risk pregnancies so I don't know why it would be so off but my research said otherwise!

You know that ovulation tests don't show when you're actually ovulating? They show the LH surge which causes you to ovulate within the next 36hrs. Then it takes anywhere between 6 and 12 days for implantation to occur. 9 days can be worrying, but it also could be nothing. Try not to stress, easier said than done, I know.
