6 weeks pregnant and jeans don’t fit!

Hiya everyone, I’m 6 weeks pregnant today with my second baby and amazed at just how tight my clothes have got (to the point that I’ve started shopping for maternity jeans!) I didn’t start gaining weight or showing with my first pregnancy until around 20 weeks. Admittedly I’m not as fit as I was then, but by no means big and if anything, I’m eating a lot less recently just because of my lack of appetite and general nausea. I expected to show earlier as it’s my second, but not this early! My husband and mum think it might be twins as fraternal twins run on my mums side and I got a super strong BFP just under a week before my AF (plus I’ve conceived twins before), but am VERY aware you can’t predict that and I just need to wait for a scan.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I did with my first but it was just initial bloat and got them back on a few weeks later... only to lose my waistline at 14 weeks haha

I’m 8+6 and haven’t even attempted jeans for about 2/3 weeks 😂

I did with my 2nd it was bloating

With your second most people get bigger more quickly, even though the baby is still so tiny still at that point. Think I was heading into maternity jeans not too long after 6 weeks.

Aw good to know it’s not just me, I feel huge! I thought it’s probably bloating mostly, but I’m not eating a great deal so it didn’t make sense.

@Aberforthsgoat ha! Maybe I’ll scrap the jeans idea then and just resign to leggings, tights and joggers!

Try putting a hairband between the button and the button hole to give yourself a little more space - helped me bridge the time until I needed proper maternity jeans. Congratulations!

Sorry, that was not the most helpful description. What I meant was you hook one end of the hairband over the button, then loop the band through the buttonhole and hook the band over the button again.

I was same with second think it's bloating especially after food! I did start wearing my maternity jeans at 7weeks 😂🙈 I actually wasn't big at all through the pregnancy but I did show quicker than first time round.

@DoubleHelix79 thanks for the tip! Will probably have to do that while I wait for the maternity wear.

@Shelby30 god I hope I don’t get mahusive and this early bump/bloating isn’t a sign of things to come :/

Honestly it will likely be bloating. I wasn't much different at 7 wks to 14wks.

I got really big as soon as I was pregnant, was just all bloating though... I’m now 28 weeks and bump is exactly average sized

I'm feeling exactly the same OP, sitting at my desk with my trousers undone Blush
I do remember with DD I wore looser clothes from about 10-14 weeks as anything tight made me feel really sick so hoping this will pass too.

I have experienced exactly the same. The answer at the 12 weeks scan was that baby number 2 was actually 2 and 3Grin

@Merrz rubbish isn’t it?! I’ve lived in my husbands joggers this last week as I can’t stomach leggings lol!

@coronafiona I have that in the back of my mind as it’s a very real possibility for me. We have an early scan at 9 weeks on 1st Feb as I want to mentally prepare myself if it is two lol!

Lol you have no choice so just you just do. It's like everything. If you are blessed with twins you will manage too, don't worry
