5 weeks pregnant symptoms

Hi everyone!

I’m 5 weeks today after miscarrying in November and having a molar pregnancy earlier in the year. I’m very anxious and nervous!!

I’m looking for some reassurance for aches and pains anyone has had / is having! I had a tiny spec of pink when I wiped last week and nothing since so my anxiety is through the roof!

Has anyone had stomach issues? I’m so bloated and my stomach can be tender at times!

I am about 5 weeks as well. Have had 4 early miscarriages in a row. Very nervous about this one. I have felt really bloated and had a few twinges. I speak to my friend who has been through it all and she said its normal. She had lots of pangs and bloating with her 2 babies and they are 10 and 7 now.
It is so hard to not worry about every twinge, I struggle too. But I think its all OK. Smile

Anything you’re worried about it’s always worth a call to the GP. Having said that I had all sorts of cramping in the early days, ranging to bad period like pain lasting an entire day to random twinges. I’m only 8.5 weeks now but definitely had the worst twinges between 4-6 weeks. I understand the cramps and aches are to do with your uterus growing.

Before I found out I was pregnant and I mean from conception (!) I had a really bad back ache- when i called the GP to say I’m pregnant I mentioned the backache (was worried it was a kidney infection or something) and he said that was normal too.

I didn’t have any spotting but I was expecting to get it as my mum warned me she had it.

Oh and the bloating! That’s normal, I’m currently looking about 6 months prego with the bloat Wink

All in all it sounds normal, but i don’t think there’s any harm in calling your GP if you’re worried! Hope the aches ease, I know how horrible and anxious it makes you feel x

Sorry for your losses OP. I've has 3 mc's, and just had a failed IVF round last week. When I was pregnant, I found till about 6-7weeks, I always had strange, pulling sensations in my pelvis. Sometimes a quick, sharp, twinge, other times almost like a mild cramp. I was told it was the additonal blood supply going to the pelvis and relaxation of the pelvic ligaments.

Prior to seeing the pink speck, had you had intercourse? Might be residual from implantation?

Any pain one sided, shoulder tip pain, very painful needs A&E. Due to your previous MC and molar, you 'might' be able to have a viability scan at about 7-8 weeks. Speak to your GP or EPU if that might be an option.

@JadaMarie92 Sorry to hear about your miscarriages! Sad It makes it even more nerve-wracking doesn't it! I never thought pregnancy would be this stressful haha. Would this be your first?

@Thisisbananas3 Yes definitely! The thing that's stopping me is I had my miscarriage in November only a week after phoning the EPU and really struggled having to cancel my reassurance scan so I'm delaying it until I get through this week, which will make me further along that last time.

I think it could be gas maybe? I've been awful today Blush I never had this with my molar or previous miscarriage!

@Elouera Sorry to hear about your losses Sad

I get pulling sensations and a heavy feeling. I haven't experienced a healthy pregnancy yet, so any twinge I'm having I'm like 'I felt that when I miscarried'.

No but I had an awful IBS flare up that I haven't had in years. So thinking maybe straining irritated my cervix? But maybe I'm clutching at straws!

I'm definitely eligible for a reassurance scan as I was going to have one last time but I miscarried before it. Fingers crossed for this one! I'm just trying to get through this week at least before booking one... the thought of booking one makes me feel like I'm jinxing myself.

I keep telling myself everything is fine, but then I'll feel a twinge!

@Forest27 I know tell me about it. Literally everyone in my family has had such an easy time with pregnancy. No losses or major issues. So I guess I took it for granted a bit...but not so great for me. Yes hopefully this will be my first...finally.
I will be going for a reassurance scan. Had to wait a week with drs as I only had my 4th miscarriage at beginning of December, so had to wait to ensure this is a new pregnancy. Now we know it is, drs will put me through for an early scan. The anxiety is madness!

@Forest27 So sorry for your previous losses, I’m sorry I didn’t say that in my first post.

Honestly I am shocked by the bloating so it could be gas, but I think twinges are to be expected. When you feel up to booking it, do go for the scan, hopefully that will give you some peace of mind.

I don’t know what yours are like but my Gp is quite uninterested, such a shame we can’t have early midwife contact cos at this stage it really feels like we’re left in the lurch with a lot of random pains and no explanations!

@JadaMarie92 when is your early scan? I’m having one on Monday due to stabbing pains on my left. I’m panicking that it’ll make me worry more if I can’t see much 🙈

@Thisisbananas3 thank you! I phoned the EPU on Friday and they booked me in for a scan on Monday due to the pains. They want to rule out ectopic so I’m panicking so much now. Fingers crossed everything is fine!

@Forest27 I had mine 2 days ago. I am so early they couldn't see anything but I have had the news that I am having my 4th miscarriage today. Good luck on yours! I really hope you get great news! Smile

@JadaMarie92 I’m so sorry to hear this Sad I hope you’re ok! Are they going to do any investigations?

If I miscarry again they said they’d refer me to be checked as that would be three in a row.

@Forest27 thanks. I am doing as well as to be expected. Yes they are referring me for investigations. I need to stop trying which isnt ideal as they can't do anything once I get pregnant. So will be possibly going back on the mini pill whilst I go through this.

I really hope you get some great news!! Please let me know how it goes. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Flowers
