Help! Buying maternity jeans online

I would never normally buy jeans online. I normally buy a pair every 5 years and spend ages finding a pair that fit just right. I don’t really want to go from shop to shop atm and I don’t think fitting rooms are open anyway.

I’m 15 weeks on Tuesday and have a very definite bump, have been living in leggings and lounge wear for the last few weeks but I think it’s time to sort out some jeans.

Does anyone have advice on maternity jeans? Will the legs and bum fit the same as they would normally? Or are they a bit baggier all round?

Any recommendations on shops? I’m leaning towards ASOS atm. Want ones with actual pockets preferably not just jeggings. I had a look at jojo mamas but the reviews say they run massive and I’m normally a size 8/10.

TIA!

I’m a size 12 but find I fit into size 10 maternity jeans quite well, mainly because I have quite wide hips so the maternity ones are stretchier around that area.

I’ve found new look to be the best for maternity jeans, they’re the only ones that don’t seem to ride down on me.

I haven’t wanted to spend too much on maternity jeans because I won’t be wearing them post baby but new look is really reasonably priced.

H&M all the way. I love them!

I was a size 6, but I do think I went to a size 8/10 tbh.

I have a pair or small, and a pair of medium, & they both fit lovely.

Thanks @Whatthedoodle good to know I can probably lean towards a smaller size.

Are the new look ones a decent material? Worried they’ll be quite thin.

Seraphine are worth a look although they are more expensive. I really liked my Jojo ones too but I'm a fair bit bigger that an 8-10!

Seraphine maternity jeans are really good, but you'll find the over bump ones massive at this point more than likely. If you're going under bump I'd stick to your normal size, I'm also an 8/10 normally and the 8 fit me perfectly.

I'm usually a size 10 and 14 weeks, I have just bought thr topshop Joni at jeans. They are great but size 10 is a bit too big.. I think its because its ony my hips and bum are the size 10 but and they are naturally bigger in that area. Im going to buy a black pair in size 8 too.. keeping the size 10 for later on! They are otherwise thick and comfy though

Just buy ur normal size, u can either get over the bump or under bump, think over the bump fit better when u get a sizeable bump but to it's each to their own. I have got ones from ASOS that are like proper jeans and ones from new look that do have pockets but not as thick as a Jean material

I just buy my normal jeans (topshop Joni) in the size I normally would but in maternity style. Under bump for early pregnancy and over bump later on. I’ve actually bought a few pairs second hand on eBay. Maternity wear is usually in decent condition on eBay as it’s unlikely have been worn for very long periods of time.

I have a pair of skinny jeans from next - I'd 100% go for over the bump ones. I have under bump jeans as well and they constantly fall down

I got next and H&M. Both good but H&M better. Go for over bump ones, under bump just fall down

I’ve brought two pairs so far, one from next which are lovely, but really should have sized down because their way too baggy. They only have back pockets. I also have a pair from gap which have pockets and are so comfy/flattering. Gap also still have 50% off full price at the moment.

Managed to find some H&M ones on Facebook marketplace! Don’t have to worry about the terrible postage items around at the moment. Thanks all for the advice, going for size 8, over the bump Grin
